We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mike, what are you inspired by?

Inspiration really comes from exploring new places anytime we have a chance to do so. By physically exploring new places, it allows us to mentally and emotionally explore new parts of who we are. It helps us know we can be in new places, and through that comes growth.

For songwriting this is crucial. Since our music is lyrically focused on life’s lessons, seeing new places and telling stories of traveling to beautiful locations, has been a wonderful part of music and our message.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

As artists, we dabble in a few different fields. Outside of performing music, we are both photographers. Together we own Lifestyle & Living Photography. We do a lot of Real Estate Photography, as well as photographing concerts, families and weddings.

Kyzandrha has been focusing on growing her jewelry line, which we also bring on the road with us . She creates polymer clay earrings which are created and based on colors of landscapes we have visited throughout the world. She also upcycles my guitar strings and works them into her earring designs. These have been a large part of our merchandise when playing shows.

I (Mike) focus on landscape photography when we’re on the road. I absolutely love to hike to new places and continue to grow my list of places I want to see and photograph. Last year I self published my first photography book titled “Waterfalls of Western North Carolina”

This book was to encourage the exploration of our current town and to make sure to explore responsibility while respecting the landscapes.

All I can say is that we’ve worked together as a team and have worked very hard at everything we’ve taken on in order get to where we are today. Taking pride in what you do and focusing on having positive and supportive people in your life really makes a huge difference.

We want the world to know that our purpose and what we contribute in life, is far larger than us. Every project and everything you do in life can either spread joy or spread anger. We have to make a choice to do everything we can out of love. Only then with it come back to us in the way desire it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Phoenix area has so much to do and so much to see within such a close proximity to the city.

Our perfect day in the Phoenix area would probably have to start off at one of the many great hikes in the city. Camel Back Mountain is always a great choice if you want to start off with a solid workout.

Afterwards we’d head to the Desert Botanical Gardens to check out all of the unique species of Cactus followed by a walk at Papago Park to Hole in the Rock.

We’d then make our way over the Roosevelt Row for some food and shopping. This street has a ton of local shops, food vendors and ways to support local Phoenix artists and business owners. The Churchhill is a great place to part if you’re looking to get your fill of Instagram worthy murals.

As the end of the day approaches, we’d make our way out toward the Superstition Mountains. You can take a stroll through the Goldfield Ghost Town before taking in an amazing sunset hike at Lost Dutchman State Park or on a scenic drive on the Apache Trail.

This would be the perfect day in the Phoenix area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I’d love to give a shoutout to Kyzandrha, my wonderful fiancé and partner, in both life and music. She has really supported travel and music for the last 6 years and it has helped both of these passions flourish into something greater than I could have expected.

She dove head first into traveling both stateside and internationally after seeing how much it motivated me. She also dove into the music project that we’ve been doing for the past 4 years called Gypsy & Me.

Without her, neither of these passions would have grown to the level they are today. So my shoutout goes to her and her endless dedication.
