We had the good fortune of connecting with Miriam Alvarez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miriam, what do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my brand’s success to a one-word piece of branding advice I give my clients. The word is… Consistency.

Imagine your new brand already has a name, a logo, and a color palette. Will this guarantee the success of your brand? Unfortunately, no.

But, what do I mean by brand success?

We can say a brand is successful when its customers trust it and recommend it. They find it reliable, and their loyalty is proven when they choose it again and again. All this translates into more profitability and growth.

So, in a few words, brand success is being able to create a deep connection with your customers.

That’s why, I share a simple, yet very important, one-word piece of advice that will make a whole difference in how your customers perceive and trust your brand. That is CONSISTENCY.

“Brand consistency means ensuring that the way you present your company—and what it stands for—remains the same across all your marketing channels, unifying the image and message your customers and potential customers see.” Source: Mailchimp

Consistency across all brand touchpoints is key for your brand to gain positioning. This means using your logo, color palette, typography, and graphic elements repeatedly , so you can help your clients start recognizing your brand.

A few examples of brand touchpoints are business cards, email signatures, ads, social media content, email marketing, presentations, brochures, and your website. Of course, there are many more, but this depends on the brand and what they market.

You may feel that repeating the same colors, graphics and messages can be quite boring, but it’s not. If you want your clients to recognize you, you must be persistent.

These actions build trust toward your brand each time a client interacts with it. They communicate that your brand is reliable and trustworthy.

As human beings, we’re constantly seeking safety, we don’t like change, even if we consider ourselves “risk takers” or “adventurous”. We always look for what’s familiar and what we can trust. When a brand is consistent visually, we’ll trust that it will also deliver the same quality and experience each time we choose it.

My life revolves around branding, and I believe my success is directly linked to my brands consistency.

What should our readers know about your business?
Through my work, I strive to not only create visually stunning designs, but to also tell the story of each brand and connect with their audience on an emotional level. I believe that a great brand has the power to change lives and inspire people to dream bigger.

Working with entrepreneurs helping them create their brand from scratch, has been my focus for over 10 years.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition? We hear a lot about “self-made CEO’s” and “self-made millionaires”. It sounds shiny, it sounds proud… and it sounds hard. The truth is there is no such thing as “self-made”, we are always in need of community, support and guidance. You may say “Wait! I AM self-made! I never received help from anyone, I was definitely in this by myself”. But I’m here to tell you that in order for you to have a business, you had to have your first client.

The person that trusted you even when you had zero reviews and little to no experience. That person is part of the story, and the client that came after. Let’s go further, that friend that stood beside you. Not understanding what you were so worried about, but willing to listen. The family member that did not bring you down, but lifted you up with words of encouragement. That does not sound like self-made to me.

I can say that I had many people support me along the way with their trust and advice. Thankfully I can say, I’m not self-made. I’m community-made.
