Meet Natalie Arriola | Podcaster

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Arriola and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
This may sound cliche, but the most important factor to any success I’ve experienced has been to believe in myself. There are many moments when I feel unmotivated and uninspired. When those moments happen, I have to motivate and inspire myself. One way I do that is listening and jamming out to one of my all-time favorite songs. If I play a song by Selena Quintanilla, that will do it! As far as the success behind my brand, the Mujeres In The Know Podcast, the most important factor has been staying open-minded and staying true to myself.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started podcasting in 2017, as a hobby. In 2018, I launched my first podcast called Latina Moms In The Know Podcast. It became a big part of my life and my passion project. For the podcast, I got together with some of my mom friends and we discussed the joys and struggles of being a mom. I later changed the name to the Mujeres In The Know Podcast, to reach a broader audience. Instead of the podcast being only for moms, I wanted it to be for all women. What gets me most excited about podcasting is the production part of it all. I have a little over ten years of experience in the field of communications and I’ve learned a lot. From working a professional switchboard for a local news station, to reporting on the sidelines for high school football, I took everything I learned over all of those years and made something beautiful out of it, the Mujeres In The Know Podcast. The production process may not be too fun for some, and this may sound weird, but I love the feeling of getting on my computer and editing audio. I also love creating graphics with Canva.com to promote my podcast episodes. I am a one-man band, so yes, it is very challenging in some moments. But, I have learned that it is okay to ask for help when you absolutely need it. I’ve had some amazing women come to my aid, such as Maritza R. Luebbers. She was there when I needed help the most, and became the host of the Mujeres In The Know Podcast for a couple of episodes, which lead me to asking other women if they wanted to host a couple of episodes as well, and they did! Thank you Dr. Melissa Uriegas, Dr. Esmeralda Adame and Dina Sabnani for stepping in. What I’m most proud of and excited about my podcast is the feedback I get. I’m thrilled when someone sends a message saying that one of the episodes resonated with them, or it inspired them to take a positive next step in their career or personal life,
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Wow, there are so many people that deserve credit and recognition. I want to first give a shoutout to two organizations located in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. The first organization is Organization of Women Executives – Rio Grande Valley. This organization deserves a lot of credit because they gave me confidence in what I was trying to achieve and do with my podcast. They welcomed me into their organization with open arms, and gave me a sense of belonging and a whole lot of love. Now, I am a member of the organization and hope to serve on their board someday. The other organization I would like to give a shoutout to is FemCity RGV. While I was a member of their organization, they shared their platform with me, and gave me an opportunity to showcase my podcast. They also gave me a sense of belonging, as well as love. Not only that, I was able to create a really cool presentation about podcasting, and share it with other members of the organization. Other than those two organizations, I would like to give a shoutout to my parents for teaching me that with God, I could achieve anything I set my mind to. They deserve the most credit and I love them so much for that.
