We had the good fortune of connecting with Nathaniel Branscomb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nathaniel, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have volunteered in nonprofits for 30 years, starting in highschool. I volunteer in nonprofits that serve you, as President of the 100 Black of Triangle East, Inc., and Board member of Communities in Schools of Wake County, and the Emily K Center. It’s in this role where I saw the need to help nonprofits, that are helping our youth. Nonprofits that are strapped for time, cash, volunteers and other resources
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Prior to founding bcombs, I am a CPA and have worked in companies that include KPMG, Ernst & Young, Cisco, Lenovo, The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and Private equity backed startups.
My roles included operations, leading accounting departments as financial controller, and Global Program manager
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I like to go local where ever I am. So while I’m a Chicago Native, I currently live in Cary, NC and recommend the following spots
Longleaf BBQ for pulled pork BBQ, and more traditional Ribs
Rosait’s Pizza – for a taste of thin crust and deep dish pizza
Parizad for Mediterranean
Rey’s for a good steak
Oak City meatball for great meat balls and some of the best Mac & Cheese and Greens around
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
– First and foremost, my wife (Natlie), childen (Lil Nate & Nadia) and Parents (Nate Sr. & Janice. With out them, none of this is possible. – Friends, family, colleagues, and network for your unwavering support, guidance, and kind words.
