We had the good fortune of connecting with Nichole Burnett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nichole, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
I get told all the time that being a wedding and event planner must be so much fun! Of course it is fun (I wouldn’t do it if I didn’t enjoy it!), but it is also a high stress career. It isn’t just the pretty designs you see on social media. There is so much more that goes into each wedding and event. It truly never stops. Most of the time we are working on multiple weddings and communicating with dozens of clients and vendors. Time management and organization are key in the wedding and event industry.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Posh Planning & Event Co. is a full service event planning company exclusive to Havasu Springs Resort and private residences. Although our main focus is our venue within Havasu Springs, we love getting the chance to step outside our comfort zone and create magic at private locations. I want to provide my couples and clients not only with the guidance and knowledge they want, but also the comfort and encouragement they often need. I love establishing relationships with people, and truly getting to know my client’s personal style and vision is extremely important to me. I guess you could say I am in love with love and happiness. They are my fuel. I enjoy creating beautifully unique events to celebrate all of life’s significant moments. Life should be celebrated: a small birthday dinner, a large glamorous wedding, and everything in between. I have a passion for style and design. I love finding creative ways to make an event memorable and unique.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite things to do in Lake Havasu are hiking, boating and walking along the channel. The perfect trip to Lake Havasu would include a day exploring Havasu Springs Resort and getting out on the lake. I would definitely include a hike at Sara park and happy hour at Cha Bones. If you know me, then you know I love champagne and charcuterie. A stop at one of the local wine bars on Main Street would be a must. A morning walk along the channel followed by coffee and breakfast at Wild Coffee would also be on the itinerary. Although I am a planner, I still like to leave room for spontaneity as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout to my mother-in-law, Melanie Burnett, of Meraki Botanical Designs. She is the reason I am in this industry today. She is an AIFD certified floral designer and has been creating floral designs for weddings and special events for over 2o years. Her passion and knowledge of botanicals is unsurpassed. Melanie had dreamt of building a wedding site at Havasu Springs Resort for many years and when her son proposed to me she decided to make it happen. My husband, Michael, and I were the first to get married at the wedding site, The Pointe at Havasu Springs Resort, in 2016. Our wedding sparked my love for event planning and Melanie was my biggest champion. Posh Planning & Event Co. is very proud to work exclusively with Melanie (Meraki Botanical Designs) at our venue within Havasu Springs Resort. The Pointe is nestled on a ridge overlooking the South end of beautiful Lake Havasu, The Pointe sits among the natural desert terrain providing a tranquil desert vibe. With the desert mountains as a backdrop and the Arizona sky as a canopy, every view from this unique location is breathtaking.
