We had the good fortune of connecting with Nick Greathouse and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nick, what do you attribute your success to?
Working in the aesthetics industry, you find that there are a lot of misconceptions to what we do. Many people associate getting neurotoxins like Botox or Dysport with the overdone celebrities you see in magazines. If in the right hands, we can make patients feel like a better version of themselves without looking “fake” or “plastic”.
I feel that my business has been successful because I offer my patients complete transparency in what they can expect with their aesthetic treatments. This includes the good, bad, and the ugly. One thing I am known for is providing education to my patients. I work as a faculty instructor for the American Academy of Facial Esthetics where I teach doctors and nurses how to provide these procedures safely and effectively. From what I am told, that is what my patients value most. It is important that we remember these are medical procedures and should be treated as such.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Cloud 9 MedSpa is a medical spa in Casa Grande, Arizona and we offer aesthetic treatments such as Botox and Dermal filler, as well as laser, microneedling, vitamin therapy, and skin services. I was introduced to this industry while working as a Registered Nurse in a Neurology/Neurosurgery unit of a hospital. Working there, I was made aware that patients who suffer from orofacial pain and migraines could benefit from Botox treatments. I took a class to learn how to administer these medications and fell completely in love with the cosmetic and therapeutic aspects of it all.
I decided to do some further research and learned that there is a huge need in my hometown of Casa Grande for a medical spa. I decided to open Cloud 9 more as a hobby, and it eventually turned into a thriving business! Along the way, I have had many challenges, such as hiring my first employee. That was probably one of the scariest decisions I have made. Now, we have 13 staff members and have an annual revenue of a million+.
My advice for anyone opening a business is to trust your gut, stick to your values, and be YOU!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My idea of a good time is checking out new restaurants, people watching, and just enjoying each other’s company. I think Arizona has such beautiful landscapes and would want them to see all of it! Maybe we would take a road trip and see the forest in Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, and Tucson for the history and culture.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I could not be half as successful as I am without the support of my team. We have hand picked every member of our team and focused on their dedication to reaching the same goals. We have grown at a rapid rate and they have been extremely flexible with our ever changing business plans. I also highly value collaboration and networking. My colleagues have made a huge impact on my growth as they motivate me to be the best version of myself on a daily basis.
