We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Santigati and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
Recently I discovered a book called Hollow Kingdom by Kira Jane Buxton. From the synopsis I knew this book would be captivating, and captivating it was. The way the author uses words to paint the world she created allows you the reader to be immersed in this beautifully haunting world. This book highlighted that in a world where there are so many distractions that remaining present allows you to enjoy life as it is being lived, not lived through a screen or by valuing yourself by likes. The importance of respecting our planet. That we as the human species caused our own extinction, that when we had the opportunity to change the world for the better greed, screens, and selfishness were our demise. For me this book also allowed me to empathize with the main character. I know what it’s like to not feel like you fit in to feel half in one world and half in another and how sometimes our uniqueness can both be a hindrance and a strength that allows us to open and expand ourselves. And when we have a little faith and work together, we can achieve anything. For a book I discovered randomly at the library it has deeply touched my heart and soul. It opened my eyes to new opportunities and experiences. That being present allows for more gratitude, which expands the mind and soothes the soul. Every day I look forward to coming home and reading a little more to follow ST and Dennis on their adventures. This is a first book of two and I cannot wait to see what magic the second book holds. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have if you decide to read it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Blossoming from idea to business is thrilling, stressful, and exciting. The path is never easy, it is built on failure, patience, passion, success, and devotion. Everyday there is something new to learn, and adapting is vital to success. During the pandemic, I lost my job, and not for lack of trying, could not find a steady career. I took a chance and started my business when I truly wasn’t ready to start, but when are you really ever ready? I am so proud of my persistence, ability to adapt, be innovative, and listen to my clientele to keep improving my products and the educational material I offer to my audience. I hope to educate people about the value of clean skin care products and assist people like myself who have had skin problems their entire lives. My brand is a testament to my integrity, passion and dedication to myself and clientele. I hope that Copper Crescent Botanicals stands the tests of time, by providing value to your lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Arizona has so much to offer from its radiant desert to the lush forests. Uniquely Arizona has 7 ecological zones all with their own unique beauty. Hiking is one of my favorite hobbies, South Mountain in Ahwatukee is an excellent hiking spot from beginners to experienced this mountain offers a unique views of the valley with incredibly beautiful wildlife to gaze upon. The beauty of Arizona is day trips are so easy. Bisbee, Payson, Cottonwood, and Flagstaff are super fun and unique towns to explore each with its own rich history and flavorful restaurants. Arizona is rich with museums which are another favorite past time of mine. From the natural history museum to the musical instrument museum to the phoenix art museum there is a museum for anyone and everyone’s taste. Speaking of taste the valley has so many restaurants to try. A few of my favorites are Hon Machi sushi, Sugar Bowl ice cream, Crackers and Co breakfast, La Fonda Mexican food, Unphogettable, The Chop Shop, and Nectar.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It truly does take a village to become successful to have encouragement and love to know that you’re supported, and that you have a sounding board for the tough decisions that life throws at you. I am beyond grateful to have such an amazing and wonderful support system in my life, for my shout out, I would like to thank my friends and my family who’s unwavering support knowledge and advice has allowed me to grow and expand more than I ever thought imaginable. I truly wouldn’t be where I’m at today without their love, support and encouragement. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you that have lit my light up my world and allowed me to truly know what it’s like to be loved and it’s allowed me the opportunity to love myself more too. I applaud and thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
