We had the good fortune of connecting with Norman Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Norman, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Film has been influencing our world for over a century. What we do at State 48 Films LLC is use this proven technique to tell stories of compassion, anger, fear and comedy. We like bringing stories to life through this media. It’s current, it’s relevant and we make it edgy.

We’re doing feature films, sci-fi and drama that project different twists and spins on life and begin to call into question, at times, our cultural norms. We also produce a reality TV series that takes you behind the scenes of how companies work, how people interact and the drama that unfolds naturally in the process of everyday life.

We at State 48 Films LLC believe that stories can educate, inform and help shape society. This why we tend to be a little more cerebral in our approach to storytelling. Not just tell stories but involve the audience in the storyline. This is why we can say with all confidence that State 48 Films LLC is impacting our world and culture with the very best films and TV.

One example is the feature film State 48 Films has currently in production that tells the story of a family that migrated to America from England in the 1700’s. It’s historical;, it’s educational and takes a hard look at life in pre and post revolutionary war in America and how it was built during that time.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always been a visual person from a story telling perspective. From a very young age I began to look at things from a different point of view. In school, other kids thought I was weird and In high school they saw me as slow and simple. I also don’t fight or argue against what I can’t change and as such, they also thought I was weak. Little did they know, I was making stories in my head about them, the circumstances and the trials of living through it. They will forever be immortalized as antagonists of the highest order. HA!

People ask me if how I got to be where I am today and all I can tell them is with blood sweat and tears. Others ask how I manage the stress, I tell them I went to Project Management school. I then ask them to create a Gantt chart for their departments own projects and I get the “deer in the headlight” look. I learned long ago, the use of proper tools helps immensely. Knowing how to use them is even more important.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spots in the city are really too numerous to list. A few of them would be the Desert Botanical Gardens, Phoenix Zoo, a hike up Camelback mountain for the vistas, OdySea Aquarium, and a round of golf at The Boulders, Lunch should be at what I consider the best Northern Italian restaurant in the Valley, Trattoria Venezia. Dinner must be at Steak 44 and drinks at Bar Smith downtown Phoenix and some local music at the Rusty Spur in Scottsdale.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
One shoutout I have goes to Jennifer Scott p.g.a. who gave me the opportunity to really succeed. She involved me as 1st AC with her movie; “Eyes Upon Waking”, a relevant and edgy film about depression and suicide. She took a big chance with me and I appreciate all that she did for me.

She is now experiencing a huge success in the Film Festival circuit with “Eyes” and the film has won numerous awards. She is my heroine and a good friend.

The next shoutout I would like to give is to Christopher Salvesen who is the genius behind the filming platform “Film It Live”. This is the next generation of cinematic filming platforms and its unique feature is the AI that runs the program. It takes the intense complexity of filming and makes it nearly automatic. With this technology, State 48 Films can do more projects faster and with less expense than through normal processes. It just makes life that much easier for us filmmakers.
