We had the good fortune of connecting with OG Hatch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hatch, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
That’s a very interesting question. There a multiple reasons why I started my podcast. As someone who deals with mental health the main focus was to use the podcast as audio journal for myself as self therapy. Also, along the way I understood that by me being vulnerable on my platform discussing topics such as mental health, depression and anxiety I could positively impact people whom looked, sounded and thought like myself.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The “Thin Line Between Genius & Insanity” Podcast is a podcast that tackle’s topics that aren’t discussed in everyday conversation. I’m under the belief we live in a world where people are divided amongst each other over differences without the understanding of just how much we are the same. This form of art is not only an audio journal it is a platform that bridges gaps and break barriers with absolutely necessary conversations.

I would say I am very proud about the impact the show has had on the friends of the show. It’s a great feeling when people reach out to me and tell me how something I said on a episode impacted their life. I’m also very happy about the growth of the podcast. I really didn’t expect for the podcast to reach different parts of the world. I’ve always been one to be a harsh critic of myself so with that mindset it can be morbid at times so when you see growth and interactions from different people around the world it just makes me feel validated in the hard work I put in and keeps me producing content. The journey isn’t easy because I’m very goal oriented. With that comes uneasy feelings of self doubt and lack of patience. In a weird way I think what gets me over the challenges of becoming a successful podcaster and content creators is my challenge to myself that I can actually become the greatest of all time. My self belief truly picks me up every time.

Throughout this journey so far I’ve learned that we as people all have our own stories and that not one of our stories is worst than or better than the next. We all have something to offer and sometimes we remember the best things about ourselves in conversation.

The goal of my podcast is to give free game to people after I’m dead and gone. I’ve always been a “ I told You So” type person so a part of me just wants my best moments to be on wax. I spent so much of my life pretending I didn’t care to be liked when I was lying to myself. Now I just want to make sure I am loved by most and impacted the ones who come in contact with the show in a positive way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well see the thing is it depends on the friend. For the most part there are so many things to do solely depending on the crowd. So I like to go with ol reliable and that’s grab a bite of soul food at a place like lolos chicken and waffles prior to hitting nightlife scene in Scottsdale. With those plans you are almost guaranteed to have good food, drinks and be amongst some of the most interesting people in the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Credit goes a long way. I don’t think there is anyway I can ever truly appreciate the growth and success of the podcast if I didn’t give the credit to the friends of the show. No matter if it’s a first time listener or a last time listener. The friends of the show organically gravitated to the show and it’s growth was solely attached to listeners loving the show and sharing it with their friends. S/O to all friends of the show!
