We had the good fortune of connecting with Oriana Lehman Wood and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Oriana, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Life of Abundance is the affirmation I continually repeat to myself. It resonates with me because it immediately resets my mindset, like a snap of my fingers, to be centered in a positive and joyful place. Living life abundantly and believing life and knowing life is abundant, creates a world of generosity vs scarcity. There is plenty for all of us. We can be giving of our time, of our knowledge and not worry about oversharing our gifts, knowledge and time etc. because we have abundance.
What should our readers know about your business?
As a Global Real Estate Advisor with Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty for nearly 14 years my authenticity and ability to make valued connections through professional negotiating styles and valuing both sides of the deal sets me apart. Speaking three languages fluently; English, Italian and Spanish,, earning 2 degrees including my M.B.A and having helped countless clients who have become friends are some of my most proud business accomplishments.
It was not easy – running a family with 3 kids and a successful professional husband who travelled frequently, being able to keep a level head, sequence details and prioritize and delegate and hire support where there was a need allowed me to excel at what I do. The key to it all – renewable energy found in mindset – resetting to a positive allows me to operate for the best outcome for my clients, my family and myself. Having started 4 businesses in the real estate sector and doubling my production year after year was achieved through persistence, being authentic with people, putting client’s need’s first. But getting up every morning and literally focusing on gratitudes small and large sets the pace of the day. Writing daily affirmations with date specific goals has been a significant element of focus resulting in my continued success. Learning perfection isn’t a goal but continually correcting, improving and learning and enjoying that process and my humanity is front and center daily.
If I could boil down my story for the world to understand me in a nutshell – it would be simple: Authentically passionate about solving problems with efficiency, creativity and a lion’s heart of gold, loyalty and integrity for those whom I’m representing.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, Arizona has it all — sunshine and happiness — so if I were playing tour guide – sky’s the limit. I’d probably have you stay at one of my vacation homes in Old Town Scottsdale or the Sanctuary Resort in Paradise Valley. If you have young kids we’d put you at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and you’d have to meet Jack Miller the GM – he’s basically like the mayor, Santa Claus and the Wizard of Oz in one package. We would need to eat Mexican Food because it is Arizona, so Bario Queen or simply the patio at Frank & Lupe’s would be fun and of course La Hacienda in North Scottsdale with must have margaritas. We’d have drinks at Jade Bar and eat Shishito Peppers at the Sanctuary Resort and watch the sunset on the Valley. We’d have to do a spa day at Well & Being at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess and hikes, golf and paddle boarding or boating at Bartlett, Tempe Town Lake or Lake Pleasant would be a must. Hikes: Camelback Mountain or Tom’s Thumb for sure and if we could escape to Sedona or the Grand Canyon or Tucson’s Sabino Canyon or Saguaro National Monument… Definitely! , Golf: Grayhawk for sure and maybe the TPC where the Phoenix Open is hosted and Loew’s Ventana Canyon in Tucson because it’s the course I met my husband on and I grew up there!
As we run around town in the Phoenix valley we’d maybe catch a Phoenix Sun’s game if in season or go to the Heard Museum downtown and maybe paint a few of Ben’s Bells while there and we’d have to stop for a lavender honey latte at Provisions or the Henry with either mascarpone honey toast or a chocolate croissant! For that matter, we might have to visit Arcadia Farms for brunch and of course the Old Town Scottsdale Farmer’s market on Saturday or the Hotel Valley Ho poBl… shh it’s open to the public. And in good tourist tradition, you’d have to buy some boots either in Old Town Scottsdale or Boot barn – of course the Scottsdale Fashion Square has Prada boots, Gucci Boots, Louis Vuitton or Jimmy Choo boots if you prefer those – no judgement – but I like my Cowboy boots… super comfy!.
But I”m such home body, we’d likely eat at my house and I’d make you a gourmet wood fired pizza in our super fun Mugnaini Pizza Oven, watching the sunset under the bistro lights of my patio laughing and chatting with my kids and petting my old Chocolate Lab Brodie and listening to the best Pandora Playlist with includes the Beatles, the Eagles, Jack Johnson, Willy Nelson, and Billy Joel and probably random mixes of Pitch Perfect riff offs.
If you need more adventure – Four wheeling in our Jeep with my son and husband would be on deck or a Hot Air Balloon ride or maybe some Skeet, Trap Clay Target shooting with my nationally recognized competitive high school girls. But as I said, I’m pretty low key so I’d probably take you on some fun home tours to see architecture greats, bathroom and kitchen finishes lighting fixtures and amazing views and nano doors of multimillion dollar estates and we’d bake a lasagna, pizza or chocolate cake if we felt ambitious – otherwise we’d pop popcorn and sit outside enjoying the glorious weather and an outdoor movie!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many have supported and helped me achieve my sense of self and success. If I can count them on 5 fingers my thanks would go to my Mom, God, My Husband and family and our friends and honestly Larry Kendall and his Ninja Selling philosophy.
My Mom was an example of boldness, courage, entrepreneurial spirit and my catalyst who always pushed me to be my best and do my best. God has been a guiding light and support to my mindset and soul – He gives me the peace knowing He’s got this thing called life and I’m merely a passenger with control of the radio in this car ride of life. My husband and family; my children and brother have always been so supportive and responsive to pick up where I leave off, they are the “why” in all that I do and all that I achieve. And friends or my “Village” as I call them – I couldn’t do life without them, helping me when I need it, caring for my family when I need, giving me outlets to laugh and always be authentic self – they are a gift to never be taken for granted. And if I want to shoutout to a business system that changed exponentially my business success – Larry Kendall with his Ninja Selling Program that truly embodies work, life balance in my Real Estate and entrepreneurial endeavors with a practice of knowing mindset is everything and we truly are living “another day in paradise”.
