We had the good fortune of connecting with Oscar Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Oscar, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
To be able to work at my pace and really start to flex my talent and abilities as a custom jeweler. I’ve always been a leader and it was time to lead my own path

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I learned a lot of being a custom jeweler from my father as he is a retired custom jeweler. I always thought being a dj is what I would always do and I did do it for 30 plus years along with being a jeweler. I owned one of the most successful dj companies in the state Az Mixxmasters . Some of the lessons i learned was to stop letting people dictate my future I knew I had to take control of it and lead my own and that’s exactly what I’ve done. I am recognized as one of the top 5 jewelers in the state and it’s something I’m very proud of as it has become a life long passion to create beautiful pieces for people to cherish for generations to come

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to eat at some of my favorite Mexican food and burger joints. We’d visit some hiking and biking areas and take them to see or nightlife in Tempe Glendale and Scottsdale

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My wife and my kids are who I owe all of this to. They reminded me of what i thought them and showed them as their leader and told me to follow my own advice
