We had the good fortune of connecting with Papikaiser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Papikaiser, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is my team and all our hard work.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My journey into the music industry started when I was in my second year in college. One night I was in a party where guys were rap battling and I got thrown into the mix. My rap was pretty terrible, but I loved being in the spot light for that moment. That’s when I knew that this was something I wanted to pursue. I dropped out of college and went back to my parents house and got a job. In my free time I was writing raps in my room and finding beats on YouTube to put together a song. Once the song was ready and after I felt like I was ready, I would go to a small studio in the Bronx, where an engineer that was recording out of his house would record me. It was cheap for the hour and I had to start somewhere, so that’s where I would record and mix my first songs. After a couple of songs were finished I opened up a SoundCloud account and posted my first song. I was amazed at how many people were liking my music. After that, I entered a competition to perform in front of people on stage against other artists. I performed and out of 60 other artists I came in second. I loved the feeling of being on stage and all eyes were on me. They really liked my music. That’s when I told my father that I wanted to take this music thing serious. His advice to me was, get all the information I could about the music industry and how to get myself better prepared for the music production world. So I did. That led me to going to Ohio, Cincinnati to a small school for three weeks to learn how to record music, set up stages for music performances and record videos. Once, I got back from the school I bought all the home equipment to start to record music in my room. The music was good and my SoundCloud account started to grow. I kept entering myself into other showcases and would win them and met some very shady people. This was when I saw that I could not trust anyone in the business. I asked my father if he would manage me and he at first said for me to find someone with experience and connections, but then I explained to my mother that I did not trust anyone to be in my best interest and she then convinced my father to get involved. Since then, we have put together a small team of people that we trust and that have the experience and the connections to move my career along. So, far we have accomplished a song ( Me Gusta) of mine going #19 on the Latin Billboards 2021 and one of my music videos ( Last Night) getting over 1 million views in 3 weeks (2021). I’ve had a couple of offers to sign to a record label but did not like what they were offering. My team and I have decided we will stay working and make our own record label. I have also signed with a modeling agency for three years as a Artist Model. What I can tell you about my journey so far is, that it has not been easy and many road blocks and many no’s, but with a good supporting team and hard work and dedication anything can be accomplished.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In New York City everywhere you go is filled with art and culture. I would suggest to anyone coming to New York City to visit Central Park, Time Square and ride the subway and take a cab. I would also take them to eat one of my favorite places to eat pizza, Patsy’s in East Harlem.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my family and friends for all the support and always believing in me during this journey of becoming an Artist in the music industry. Most importantly my mother and father. They always have my back especially when times are difficult. Thank you Mom and Pops, Te Amo!
