We had the good fortune of connecting with Parker Donaldson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Parker, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At first, very scary! Having to branch outside of my introvert tendencies to reel in clients, not knowing when my next paycheck will come, definitely not the most comfortable situation I could have put myself in. But being comfortable doesn’t allow yourself to grow!
What should our readers know about your business?
Parker Donaldson Media, also known as Parker Grayton, specializes in making your vision come to life. Whether that be for a wedding, music video, documentary, social media assets, real estate, or extreme sports, Parker Donaldson Media is able to cultivate your vision into fruition. This was the classic story of “it did not happen overnight.” Some of the most cliche things in this world are cliche because they are true. I picked up my first video camera at age 14, won my first film festival awards at age 15, and it’s been a wild ride every since. Working with big names and faces, all across the globe, it’s been far from uneventful. There is never a video idea I will ever turn down, and not only does this this lead to some amazing content, but some amazing relationships as well.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As I currently live in Gilbert, Arizona, my favorite places are just a short drive away! The top of South Mountain has beautiful 360 views, perfect for music videos and photos. Apache Trail will lead you to the most majestic sunrise and sunset landscapes, and downtown Gilbert at night offers classic 80’s neon light vibes!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout Matt Komo. Komo is one of the few who is not just a videographer, but someone who consistently reinvents how media production represents. From simple Instagram stories to projects many months into production, Komo insists on doing everything in a new, unseen way.
