Meet Patrick Sampson | Singer-Songwriter & Guitarist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Sampson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Patrick, why did you pursue a creative career?
I suppose I’ve always been fascinated with words. The structure and delivery, the phrasing and cadence used to make them useful in some way. Now of course after applying that fascination to my passion for creating music, I found that the two go hand in hand as a part of the craft itself. There’s a certain freedom to creating and giving that art to the listener to take it however they naturally do so. It’s a very true and organic connection.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I suppose what I’m most excited about in terms of the music to come is that the upcoming album is my best work yet, which I suppose is what most of us artists usually say. However, the production of this album, both sonically in the studio, as well as the craft and diversity in the music and the things I explored this time around are deeply personal, and I believe above all, relatable to some degree. In regards to if it’s hard to make a career in music, the answer is yes! Like anything worth doing though, it has its challenges and it’s trials! I’ve learned you have to remain hopeful and with an abundance of faith. When listeners express how your music has impacted them or made them feel a certain way, that is the reward.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During my trip to Arizona, the most incredible thing was driving through the Superstition Mountains! As someone who loves to spend time outdoors hiking and adventuring, I’d have to say the different parks around that region would be where my friends and I would spend our time exploring! Even going for a drive through the different mountain ranges through Arizona can leave one speechless!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God first, is of course what I owe my life to and what I’ve been blessed with when it comes to the support of my family, fiancé and friends I’ve made along the way. My Dad is my partner when it comes to this musical journey, we do whatever we can to try to get more folks introduced to the music, hoping it reaches them and touches them in some meaningful way.
