We had the good fortune of connecting with Patrick Veit and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Patrick, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
That’s easy. I know to keep going because I’m still alive. As I keep going it makes me feel alive. So in a sense, to give up is to die. Also I know I should keep going because of the joy that it brings people when I and my band perform. I have several medical conditions and I am constantly in pain, but when I perform the pain goes away since it makes the audience joyful which in turn makes me joyful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me and my band apart from others is that we play a wide variety of music that appeals to all ages which is evident whenever we perform. Depending on the venue and the event we peform blues, rock ‘n roll, gospel, funk, parodies, praise & worship and originals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First I would see if there was a headlining Christian artist performing and take him there. If there wasn’t we would go to a local blues club. For meals we would go to Oscar’s Pier 83, Anzio’s Italian Restaurant, Rays Pizza, and the restaurants at Westgate. I’d take him to the Grand Canyon and sightseeing around the state.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
That’s easy too. The only answer to that is Jesus Christ. Jesus saved me at a Christian rock concert. I responded to the good news of salvation and was saved by God’s grace. Since God knew that I love music, especially rock music, He used that kind of music to speak to me about His love. Jesus deserves ALL the credit, or as we also say, all the glory in my story. Christ has given me everything! He has given me talent, gifts, other band members and gigs for the past 28 years.
