We had the good fortune of connecting with Quianna Marie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quianna, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
When business owners, entrepreneurs and dreamers step in front my camera, the professional brand photos, content and headshots are just a bonus. The true value and community impact comes from the confidence and empowerment we celebrate together. It’s truly an energy exchange that gives my clients the the encouragement they need to find clarity in their business and share their offers and client experiences with pride. When business owners take a leap of faith in entrepreneurship, they’re not only setting an example for their family and neighbors, but for their community, our nation and the entire world. When more people answer their calling and lead with their hearts and passions the money will follow. It’s my calling to document and capture their light to shine online and around the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The first time I made my friends laugh, cry happy tears and share excitement over my photographs, I knew photography was going to be a part of my life forever. I was in high school sharing pictures I had taken throughout the school year and always gifted framed photos to my friends and softball sisters on my team. Back then I wasn’t confident I could make it my career, but there was always an interest. Over the years I photographed my brother’s motorcycle races, selling photos of other racers on our tailgate. Soon I was trading senior and family photo sessions for baseball tickets, gift cards and eventually some money. Even with some doubt from teachers and other adults around me, they encouraged me to continue photography as a hobby.

While I was still in high school I had the opportunity to assist my first wedding as a second shooter photographer and the rest is history! Over the last 15+ years I became an international, published and award winning wedding photographer. Today I am focusing on branding photography, content creation and coaching marketing strategies to help business owners prove their value, book more aligned clients and increase their pricing.

Since the beginning of my business I’ve always had an interest in capturing behind the scenes photos and video clips. Yes, the action shots of my softball team sliding into to home or cranking line drives were cool, but the emotional huddles, moments in the dugout and prideful parents in the stands are the moments I actually remember the most. This lead to capturing behind the scene moments on the race track, in the pits and tuning up the bikes at my brother’s races, up and down the state of California. Documenting the behind the scenes, not only helped those that were there savor those moments, but to anyone that missed those events live they got to experience the tiny details that strung those memories together.

Over the years as I’ve built my business photographing weddings, boudoir, events, families, real estate, senior portraits, headshots and cooperate team photos – you name it! I’ve had the privilege of flexibility and pivot-proofed my business to allow for growth and changes along the way. Sharing the behind the scenes of my business shared my journey of entrepreneurship, the challenges, the set backs and every win no matter how small or how big!

Today I have the honor of not only planning branding photoshoots for business owners, but I also love helping them articulate the business their running now and forecast where they’re going next with their business. Are they hoping to scale? Turn their food truck into a brick and mortar restaurant? Offer yoga classes around the world? I love encouraging my clients to celebrate where they are now, while embodying the next big leap of faith ahead of them. Combining professional imagery with B-Roll and Behind The Scenes video clips, paired with simple, but impactful marketing strategies will help their business thrive through every season!

I encourage all business owners and dreamers to document the journey. Share the client experience, celebrate the wins, and teach lessons along the way. This will help attract aligned clients, build your community and align yourself as the expert. I promise their future clients will be obsessed with their business, they just need more people to know them!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I always encourage a beautiful hike here in Arizona, of course before it get’s too hot! We would explore Lost Dutchman State Park and explore The Superstition Mountains. Without even getting out and hiking you’ll have incredible views right from the parking lot! Next we’d grab lunch or an early dinner at Gold Field Ghost Town to step right into a western vibe for a hefty BBQ meal and explore the little ghost town. We’d end the night grabbing a snickerdoodle ice cream from Salt and Straw in Gilbert and walk around Agritopia!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to my business bestie and small business cheerleader, Tara Dunn. Tara is also a Brand Photographer + Business Coach and has helped my business pivot from Wedding Photography to Branding + Content Coaching. This pivot has been scary, like a whole new identity shift. Tara has made this transition run as smoothly as possible and shared encouragement and clarity every step of the way! I’m so grateful for our friendship and value her business coaching and support.
