Meet Rachel Husto | Chiropractor & owner of The Body Lab

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Husto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
“Build it and they will come.”
I couldn’t disagree more. If you are under the impression that you can just start something and people will show up out of the blue, you will be sorely disappointed. It takes so much behind the scenes work, pavement-pounding, marketing, networking, social media, and community involvement to build something and get people to care about it, let alone show up and spend their hard-earned dollars on it. It’s the most rewarding thing ever, but be prepared to work.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Body Lab is a chiropractic, physical therapy, and wellness practice in Lincoln, NE. We were the first practice in town to combine chiropractic and physical therapy under one roof, and the first practice to incorporate an infrared sauna, cold plunge, and red light therapy. I have always had a passion for movement, for holistic wellness and for a no-BS approach to healthcare, so this practice has brought all of those things together and has truly been a dream come true.
Building a business and clientele from scratch is the hardest but most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. It has taught me, above everything, that investing in people and showing up as my truest/most passionate/most authentic self is the best thing I could ever do. The world needs what you bring to the table, because no one else is going to do it like you, and that is your power.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Catch a workout at Hybrid Human Performance or take trail walk on the Jamaica trail Sauna / cold plunge moment at The Body Lab
Coffee and brunch at Cultiva or Hub Cafe
Shop secondhand treasures at Prelude and Cool & Collected
Drinks / happy hour: Occidental, Kate Martin, Saro Cider
Dinner: Blue Orchid, Momo, The Oven, Yia Yia’s
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I owe a lot of credit to the book Zero to One by Peter Thiel, my business coach Jeff, the love and support of my entire family.
