We had the good fortune of connecting with Raymond Peeples and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Raymond, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business helps the community or the world because. I remind everyone that sits in my makeup chair that they are all beautiful! I make it a mission of mine to promote self confidence and to remind them that all of their flaws make up who they are and to also accept that everybody is beautiful in their own way

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So I got started with makeup by watching Rupaul Drag Race. When I seen these beautiful ladies I wondered what did they do to become so glamorous. So I watched the show and I seen that they was applying makeup. I didn’t know anything about makeup except that my momma loved this ruby red lipstick from M.A.C Cosmetics .. so I logged on to YouTube and started watching tutorials on makeup. After watching YouTube for some months I went to M.A.C Cosmetics with my first check I got from a job and balled out!! I came home and my mom said “why you spend all that money on makeup?” I said “Girl I’m about to be a makeup artist !” So I practiced on my self for a long time until I went to college and was literally doing makeup for 15.00 just to be able to go to Walgreens and buy more. After college was dead and gone lol I moved to Arizona and at this point that’s when Instagram started booming and I wanted to be Instagram famous so I would buy so much makeup but I wouldn’t do anything with it and my boyfriend told me “if you don’t do nothing with this makeup I’m throwing it away” the next day I went to work and started yelling “I do makeup 2 for 20!” Now to remind you I never really did other people makeup before especially people of other ethnicities so it was really challenging especially since I never had any technicals training and learned everything from watching YouTube so that was very challenging! So one important lesson I learned and will always tell everyone is practice makes perfect and to never give up!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That’s funny that this is a question because , my birthday just passed and I literally had a whole itinerary lol so first the first night we are going to have dinner at az88 in Scottsdale Az then karaoke then off to Charlie’s to twirl with the “girls”

The next day we are getting up to go to brunch at maple and ash (it’s a bob brunch so everyone have to wear bob wigs) then a little paintball after that we are putting on our Halloween costumes and go to mill ave to go to fat tuesdays

The last day it’s Sunday funday in Scottsdale the whole day lol

Let’s just say it was no sleep on my b day Lmmfao!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes I would like to give a shout-out to all my family and friends who stick beside me when times got hard and gave me the confidence that I could be anything I choose to be!
