We had the good fortune of connecting with Rhonda Solomon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When my kiddos grew up and left home, I found myself at a crossroads, unsure of what to do with all the time and space I had. For years, my biggest job was being a mom, managing a household, and making sure my kids had everything they needed. But as they grew up and moved out, I realized it was time to rediscover who I was outside of being a Mom.

At first, the silence was overwhelming. I had started to think about hobbies I had before I was so busy with 4 kids, started with small projects—rearranging furniture, painting walls, and experimenting with DIY decor. Each project was a way to fill the space, both physically and emotionally.

It wasn’t long before I realized that I wasn’t just filling time—I was uncovering a passion. What began as a way to cope with change quickly evolved into a full-fledged passion for transforming spaces.

With my son-in-law Jud, we took on more ambitious projects, eventually revamping 24 spaces in a couple of years. Each space became a blank canvas for me. I enjoyed the creativity and process of making something that was forgotten and gross into something that was cozy, comfortable and unique

I started sharing on social media recently, to learn other skills like editing, photography, etc.

For anyone facing a similar transition, my advice is simple: Embrace the change. You never know what you might uncover.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We live in a small town. I love it here. Snowflake, Arizona is quaint and has a slower pace of life. We have places we love to walk/hike. High school football games are a fun time in the fall. You see a lot of friends there, my husband is the football coach for the high school so thats a big part of our lives.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Kay. He has a lot of knowledge when it comes to building. Even though it’s not his favorite thing to do, he has helped me learn how to do what I needed to do. He helped me with the projects I wanted done on our home, before I had the skills to do it myself.

My son in law Jud. He hired me when I didn’t have as much confidence and skills and we’ve grown and learned together how to remodel apartments in 2 weeks.
