We had the good fortune of connecting with Robens Caimitte and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Robens, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and lived in Philadelphia from High school to 2017 when I moved to Phoenix. My background and upbringing has truly molded my characteristics and my drive. Coming where I come from, you have to scrap for every single thing you need. It’s a dog eat dog world so tough skin is a must. Not to mention the glitz and glamour that’s staring in your face across the bridge everyday in the NYC skyline. The hustle and grit was installed in me to always strive for better. That motivation along with my love for music put me in a direction that i’m always thankful for taking.

I have to credit my dad as well. I was 8 years old when he came home and told me he quit his job. I asked him how are we going to eat? He assured me we will be fine, then i watched him step by step on building his very own school bus company. It was the best Christmas I ever had. That taught me to make my own business. I now DJ in several cities and have my own Mobile DJ company, BC Entertainment Entities and in process of building my DJ School.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So I am a DJ. What kind of DJ you may ask? You can’t put me in a box. From Weddings, to Festivals, to tours, to Strip Clubs, Night Clubs, Corporate Events, Radio, I have touched just about every type of stage there is to touch. Sometimes, I’ll scratch. More often, I’ll blend. But no matter what, I do my very best to entertain the crowd and make sure they leave happier than when they arrived. The road to this point was not easy , nor is it complete. It was a journey of lessons to make me better. It was a lot of studying, such as going to nightclubs in Philadelphia and New York at 21 years old, Just to watch and observe the Dj that night (Diamond Kuts, Jazzy Joyce, Nophrillz and many others) Then it was a lot of practicing and trial and errors. Computer crashing in the middle of a grand opening at a store; taught me to back up my files periodically. Weddings taught me how to be punctual and take control of the dance floor. Every gig I take the good and what needs to be worked on to maintain the level of professionalism and high energy it takes to give a great performance. Basically i would like the world to know that when you book DJ Benz, you are going to experience some type of energy that is rarely been broadcasted and you will leave remembering about the day. I put the soundtrack to the best days of your lives.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ok, I lived in the Phoenix metro area for about 5 years so I believe I can handle this (Exhales) Ok!

You can’t do an Arizona trip without Hiking. Grab water and a backpack and enjoy the outdoors. North or South Mountain, ASU Mountain, Superstition, name your pick.
Butterfly Wonderland is a beautiful place to take someone on a date.
Sports are really popular nowadays so hit up a Suns game at the Footprint Center. It’s like a club night in there (DJ Automatic!)
Food??? Too many to name. Trapp Haus BBQ on Roosevelt , or Golden Margarita down the street. Mexican spots are are ubiquitous in this area as corner stores in Brooklyn.
Loyalty Lounge in Scottsdale ALWAYS have something going on with a celebrity ALL the time.
Monarch Theatre is the vibe Downtown
AURA is always moving on Mill near ASU.

And if you like Strip Clubs, can’t beat Jaguars (where I currently DJ)

And as you drive around this beautiful city, download the IKON radio app and listen to true authentic Arizona music.

How did i do? LOL

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many to name. First, the Most High for giving me the ability to entertain the masses and bring positive vibes at a high level. My parents, Nicole and Jean St. Ange for being there and paying the electric bill while I was practicing. My mentors, DJ Spontane from Philly and Wyclef who noticed my potential. DJ John Blaze for helping me out when I moved to Arizona. The Southwest Alliance for being here for my growth. My idols, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Aktive, DJ Bonics for being a phone call away. Sharon alongside DeVion, Donnie and David for being a motivation on the daily. And of course my fans and supporters that was there every step of the way.

I Will Not Disappoint Your Ears.
