We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Colorado Springs, CO, and moved to Upton, WY before I turned 1 years old. I was raised in a Christian home with a lot of emphasis on education and the value of being a lifelong learner. This greatly impacts who I am today as I not only own my own entertainment business, but I work as a fine arts teacher for K-5 in Phoenix. In these classes, I am able to teach kids about the things that I do professionally, whether that be music production, live sound/studio engineering, social media management, content creation, etc. and give them real life examples of how these classes translate into actual careers.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think the thing that sets my art apart from others is the lack of boundaries I present, and the stories I try to weave into the subliminal messaging of my creations. Almost every project I’ve released is centered around a theme, and even the singles or “most popular” tracks in my catalog serve as something bigger than just themselves alone. For example, my last project was called “T.H.E. Golden Teacher”, aptly named after a strong type of psychedelic mushroom. Without explicitly stating it, listening to the project front to back is supposed to take a person on a journey of utilizing medicinal mushrooms to reset a neurodivergent brain.

I have always wanted my art to stand out, and utilizing multiple genres and production styles, as well as intricate themes, has been helping spread it all over the world. My next project is going to have a text based story for my followers to read along to as they listen to the soundtrack I create, which will be first released via my website before hitting streaming services.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First off, you better come to Foley Ranch! I work at the ranch as a live audio engineer and open format DJ! We have amazing BBQ that’s smoked for HOURS in pecan wood.

But Phoenix is quite amazing. In the winters, you can drive a couple hours and see snow, then head back down and take a dip in a heated pool at a resort. I am also a huge fan of the many Korean BBQ and Brazilian steakhouses around the valley!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would not be in the position I am today without my best friend, mentor, and creative extraordinaire, Champhan. I began making music with a group of people that eventually dwindled down to just myself. Cham reached out to me to do a podcast, and we immediately formed a bond over multiple subjects. Being a prolific lyricist himself, Cham was the person that pushed me to make all kinds of music, taught me how to use a camera, and instilled an attitude of service in me toward those that are in need of it. I cannot emphasize enough how important this person is to my success.
