We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Coyle Christian Nelson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ryan Coyle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Our first thought behind opening our studio came from identifying a need in our industry and in our market. When we first began talking about starting our own business, there were quite a few iterations of what it would look like. Ultimately, it became a fitness studio that combines strength training, HIIT, and mindfulness practices with the primary goal of creating an inclusive and welcoming community, all working to be the best version of themselves through movement!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The most common feedback we receive and what we believe sets us apart from other gyms or fitness studios is how much fun our classes are and how good people feel after finishing a class, mentally and physically. We created a judgement free zone for people to sweat and connect and want continue fostering a welcoming community!

We have definitely said that starting a business is not for the faint of heart, but when you have a passion and a vision to create something it makes the challenges that you face seem a lot smaller. When it comes to the challenges that we faced opening a business and any hurdles that come our way, we believe it’s most important to stop, take a breath, and move forward with the idea that everything happens for a reason and it will always work it how it should, even if it’s different than how we expected. Most importantly, we do our best to recognize + reflect on what it is that specific challenge is teaching us. There is always growth on the other side of challenge!

Our brand is rooted in the idea that fitness should be fun and inclusive. This industry can be very secular and competitive and we want to take people outside of the box and show them that collaboration will always overcome competition. In our space you will find a variety of people from different backgrounds, cultures, history, all coming together to support, uplift, and connect through movement.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love answering these questions- because we host out of town friends often! A typical day would look something like this! We would start our day with coffee at Cartel at Rise Hotel in Uptown, head to Groundwrk for a class, grab breakfast at Ollie Vaughns, do a little shopping at Monsoon Market, Wang’s Vintage and Now or Never, grab a light bite at Flower Child and get ready for dinner at Sottise ending night with dessert at Novel Ice Cream!

Other places and things to do that we would suggest-
Hiking Piestewa Peak, walking through the desert botanical gardens, checking out the Uptown Farmers Market!
Berdena’s Coffee and Shopping at The Fred is also a must!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to show love to all of our family and friends who have supported us throughout our journey- there were many late nights, long days, and literal blood, sweat, and tears that went into opening our studio. There is not a day we aren’t grateful for those who have been by our sides!
