Meet Ryan Goss | Professional Artist, CEO, Art Instructor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Goss and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m from the vibrant city of Forest Park, Illinois, nestled near Chicago. Growing up as an only child, I was constantly on the move, immersing myself in activities like basketball, skateboarding, drawing, and exploring. Forest Park’s diverse culture provided endless opportunities for adventure and connections with fascinating people.
My upbringing was deeply shaped by my mother, who instilled in me essential values like humility, patience, dedication, and selflessness. She emphasized the importance of leadership over conformity, which has greatly influenced my perspective on life. From a young age, I aspired to stand out in my own unique way, driven by a desire to excel and make a difference.
Thanks to her guidance and the vibrant environment of Forest Park, I learned to embrace challenges and discover my strengths, ultimately shaping the person I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is a blend of subjectivity and projection, weaving stories inspired by real-life events and emotions. Similar to a comedian whose humor stems from truth, I strive to create pieces that resonate deeply with viewers. Each painting is a living time capsule, encapsulating genuine emotions, thoughts, ideas, and moments. What sets my art apart is the fusion of different styles, techniques, and mediums, guided by a clear vision that evolves over time.
I’m proud of how my business has flourished, particularly my Paint Sessions in the DMV area, where I teach others to paint in a fun, interactive setting. Starting my business with just $200 amidst a pandemic wasn’t easy, but I persevered, focusing on my vision and trusting in God. Through adversity, I’ve learned the importance of faith and resilience, standing strong in the face of challenges.
At the core of my journey lies a passion for igniting creativity in others. I believe art offers a therapeutic sanctuary where self-expression knows no bounds. My mission is to empower individuals to channel their emotions and dreams onto the canvas of existence, transcending limitations through creativity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in the DMV area and there is plenty to do.
