We had the good fortune of connecting with Saguaro Blossom Events and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Saguaro Blossom Events, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Each of us has previous experience working with others and coordinating events. We are detail-oriented, organized, and creative; all skills that work well in the event decorating business. When we transitioned from our professional lives to become stay-at-home moms, we were each looking for ways to contribute to our household income, and we’d all been doing various other odd jobs. We wanted to find a way to earn a living, use our skill sets and also have fun. The idea to start our own business came to us more easily than we would’ve imagined. We’d already been volunteering our time for our local school by planning and facilitating large events. It was something we loved to do and the opportunity to make it our full time job was exciting!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business specializes in creating event décor inspired by our own backyard. We are all Arizona natives, so it was important for us to incorporate our home into our work. The Sonoran Desert offers such a diverse and unique landscape that we didn’t see represented in the wedding and event industry.

We are excited to share our love of the desert and our creativity with our community. Just like we love the diversity within the desert, we love the many different events and activities that Arizona has to offer. We are thrilled to have the chance to contribute to those events by offering our own take on our desert home.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We love being outdoors and recommend that visitors take every opportunity they can to enjoy the beautiful scenery! Some favorite sports include Usery Mountain Regional Park and the Salt River. Both places offer spectacular views of the mountains. You can even see wild horses while visiting the river! The Desert Botanical Garden is also a great place to experience local plants and scenery.

As self-proclaimed “foodies,” we also love a good restaurant! 12 West in downtown Mesa is a favorite spot to grab a bite and a local brew. If you’re looking for some southwestern cuisine and a spacious patio, head toward the Arcadia area and enjoy Chelsea’s Kitchen. We also suggest visiting Gallo Blanco in downtown Phoenix if you’re wanting authentic Mexican food that feels like your abuela did the cooking.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We are thankful for the women in our lives and the opportunity to foster strong, female friendships! Our business brings excitement and fulfillment to our lives, not just because we love decorating, but also because we have formed a powerful bond amongst ourselves. We are each other’s best friends, support system, and biggest fans!
