We had the good fortune of connecting with Ann C Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ann C, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It was unfortunate that Covid/Pandemic resulted in such a huge wave of layoffs and financial woes for so many Americans. On a positive note, this opened up so many opportunities for creators, artists, innovators, performers and musicians who were negatively impacted by pandemic. It was amazing to see all the talent emerge from so many people who had the talent but didn’t have the opportunity to show case it. The pandemic allowed people who were locked down to step outside of their comfort zone and create via online/social media community. I figured here’s my opportunity to step outside my comfort zone showcase and contribute to the online community.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There’s a lot of heart and soul that goes into my art work. Art is all perspective and if it resonates with someone I’ve succeeded.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Definitely the Grand Canyon or Sedona. There is something majestic about these two places that my friend and or friends would be humbled and appreciative of the experience.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shout-out to the Navajo Nation. There are many artists and creators who don’t always get the recognition they deserve.
