We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Hansen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have been self-employed my entire adult life. As a young single mother, I knew I had a lot of work to do to provide the best life for my son and I. I started a professional cleaning service that grew substantially, as well as started and sold an event rental service, another cleaning business and now do marketing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In July 2021 I made one of the toughest decisions of my life – to sell my cleaning company. After battling with the pandemic unemployment debacle in California, trying to manage employees, the business, home life – it all became a burden on my mental health. I put it up for sale and had a contract signed within a week. It was meant to be. After selling, I moved to Arizona with my son and our dogs for a fresh start. I’ve always been really great at marketing, and have done my own marketing for each of my businesses. I absolutely love it! My degree is considered ancient, I graduated in 2011! When I got here, I spent months improving my skills, taking on various marketing projects and launched Sprout Marketing and Advising in February 2022. I specialize in helping service providers market and build beautiful websites. Think cleaning services of all types, medical providers, beauty service professionals, etc. I love helping people grow their business, get more customers and reach new heights. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along my entrepreneurial path is to do what makes you happy. Mental health (physical health as well) should come before all else. We have ONE life, and it can end or be flipped upside down in a single breath. I try to live each day with gratitude, and find happiness in the most still of moments.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Easy! I have had several friends and family members come to visit from California. Most of them have never experienced Arizona. By the time they leave, they always say, “I see why you chose Arizona”. From the breathtaking views of the mountains to the exciting nightlife to the magic of Sedona. I really enjoy Canyon Lake and stargazing in the mountains up there. We’ve done boat rides at Saguaro, visited several National Parks in the state, there are just endless reasons to love this state and I take advantage of time spent with my family here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My whole family! Raising a child has been tough but raising a child, businesses and managing employees would have been impossible without the help, support and love of my family over the years. I attribute much of my success to them.
