We had the good fortune of connecting with Sammy Lubeck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sammy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My professional career prior to giving real estate my full attention can best be described as a Swiss Army knife. As a former math teacher, sports analyst and director of business development, there were many aspects about those roles I absolutely loved and learned from. At the same time, my professional growth and freedom were limited time and time again. Focusing on real estate full-time has allowed me to truly share my skills and grow professionally on a daily basis, all with the biggest smile on my face. Starting teams in both Chicago and Phoenix/Scottsdale gives me a tremendous sense of pride.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I entered the wonderful world of real estate, one thing that truly amazed me was how most agents simply stayed inside their “little comfortable bubble.” If you’re a top agent with an incredibly strong market share in a certain town, I understand that. But how many top agents can there be within one suburb? That mindset simply limits an entrepreneur from taking the world by storm. To that end, I branded myself as Chicagoland’s Real Estate Agent, and proceeded to complete real estate deals in over 60 towns around the Chicagoland area. At the same time, why limit myself to just Chicago? With so many Chicagoans buying second homes or relocating to Arizona, it’s time to help them choose the sun over snow in the winter.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
During the day, you simply have to take advantage of the great hiking opportunities around the area. Taking in the views of the Valley are just magical from the Pinnacle Peak summit. Playing 18 holes at one of the amazing top-rated golf courses at Silverleaf, Troon or Estancia also allows visitors to get away from it all. Being a Chicago guy, my friends and I will definitely hit a Cubs game in Mesa during spring training. Dinner and drinks in Old Town Scottsdale will undoubtedly be followed by a trip to Talking Stick, where blackjack/poker will hopefully reimburse their trip expenses. All this talk makes me want to take a week off myself!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I recently expanded my real estate business from Chicago to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. My 15 years selling in Chicago have been as a broker at Baird & Warner, where I have had the pleasure of working with two phenomenal managing brokers, Lynn Kosner and Dina Lissner. Lynn and Dina have been my biggest cheerleaders, confidants, supporters, guides and motivation to become the agent/broker/team leader I am today.
