We had the good fortune of connecting with Sussan Olivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sussan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I took the decision to go full time as a Real Estate Agent to build my brand and my name in this market was the most scary and risk taking decision for my situation at the time. I was working for a non-profit organization for over 11 years and when COVID hit, a year and a half ago, my department was laid off and I was only doing real estate as a part-time job. Since then, I decided to go full time, it has been the best decision I had made for self, family and my finances. As a single mom with two kids, I wanted to make sure I had the time to be there for them and also to coordinate my time to work with families. Joining my Brokerage Best Homes Real Estate, provided me all the coaching, systems and the tools to take action for my success.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Building your brand and your name could be challenging but also the most rewarding feeling that you can create. My mind has been focusing on moving forward, creating new habits, adjusting old skills, learning everyday, surrounding myself with people that inspires me. At the beginning, it was not easy, but I was trusting the process, I knew it will take some time before I started “running” I was consistent and followed my plan and now I fell it is giving me the results. I am a big believer of declaring your passion and goals so I did! and I Do the same thing with the families I work with. I’m always remind them, this is your goal for you and your family and you get to declare it and make it happen!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh this is fun! Love when friends and family visit over 🙂 I love central Phoenix (downtown, midtown, uptown and the Melrose District), I Think is so much fun to go try all the diversity restaurants, I think there are more than 200 restaurants, clubs, social dancing places, is where you’ll find the sport arenas, live music, rooftop lounges, museums, theaters, art galleries and more! I would take them to CityScape where we can go eat, shop and dance as well. Roosevelt Row to go grab a cup of coffee, to see all the street artists. Monday or Tuesday we can go to Postinos for a bottle of wine with Brochettes or to eat some delicious tacos at Joyride Restaurant.
I will also plan a fun mini trip to Sedona and Payson to enjoy our hikes trails sceneries views of our mountains!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my Coach and business owner, Alan Kushmakov with Best Homes Real Estate. His blueprint and coaching skills and the support from my team as well. Alan is not only a business owner, but a phenomenal human being who provides this warmest environment and encouragement to all of us in his Brokerage.
