We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Rowe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

For you to understand my thought process, I’d like to give you a bit of background. From a young age, having gone through a challenging childhood and being highly empathetic, I’ve felt a deep connection to the healing arts and a sincere desire to contribute positively to the lives of others and our planet. In my late teenage years, I started my personal healing journey and tried out different healing modalities. Some of them, especially family and systemic constellation work, helped me heal and transform significantly.

Observing the world around me, I’ve noticed a rising demand for healing services within our community and the world at large. People are navigating increasingly hectic lifestyles, dealing with stress, and seeking avenues to restore their well-being. This need for balance and healing became even more evident as conversations about holistic health and self-care gained prominence. Societal awareness has shifted towards a greater emphasis on mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. People are recognizing the importance of treating the root causes of ailments rather than merely addressing symptoms. This collective awareness shift has resonated deeply with me, awakening the aspiration to enter the healing field as a practitioner and facilitator. And so I felt guided to seek out extensive training and education in various healing practices.

Before formally establishing my business, I began conducting healing sessions with friends, acquaintances, and family members. Drawing upon the diverse skills and knowledge I had acquired over time, I witnessed remarkable transformations within these individuals – physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive, with those I worked with encouraging me to extend my services to a wider audience.

I officially started my business as a side hustle in 2017 and have been expanding it ever since. So here I am, delighted to offer my services and wholeheartedly serve the community both in-person and online, ensuring accessibility and convenience worldwide. Beyond individual sessions, I curate workshops that cater to groups as well. But it’s more than an interest; it’s a calling that resonates with my core. There’s an innate joy that comes from facilitating healing, whether through energy work or other modalities. It’s this joy that fuels my dedication to creating a nurturing, loving, and safe space where individuals can find solace and step back into their power. It’s an ongoing journey of exploration and growth, driven by a genuine passion to make a meaningful difference. The healing arts isn’t just a career choice for me; it’s a way of life, a mission that brings fulfillment and purpose to every step I take. I feel deeply humbled to serve and work hard on myself to continue showing up fully and with the utmost integrity.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I offer transformative soul work, shamanic healing, and sacred cacao ceremonies to help connect with your inner wisdom and experience profound healing. As a medium, I serve as a bridge to connect with your loved ones on the other side. Additionally, I facilitate powerful family constellations, guiding you to restore harmony and balance in your ancestral lineage and present moment. As a coach, I help you achieve a more aligned and fulfilling life. My holistic approach is a unique blend of modalities that can be tailored to each individual’s needs. I provide my services both online and in person, catering to private individuals and groups, in German and English.

My journey as an entrepreneur has been shaped by several key factors. First and foremost, I have kept my focus firmly on my initial motivation, allowing my “why” to guide my path. This has been complemented by my consistent engagement with clients, which has not only provided valuable learning experiences but also allowed me to refine my approach.

Dedication to my own healing journey has been instrumental in my progress. By embracing continuous personal growth, I’ve been better equipped to facilitate transformation for others. My soul tribe, an essential source of feedback and inspiration, has played a pivotal role in keeping me motivated and aligned with my goals. Constantly challenging myself to step beyond my comfort zone and elevate my efforts has been crucial. This often required sacrifices, with a substantial portion of my free time invested in nurturing my business. This dedication extends to ongoing training, not just in healing modalities but also in the art of effective business management.

In navigating this path, I’ve encountered the challenge of balancing various commitments. From family and friends to my 9-5 job, my soul business, group involvements, household chores, fitness, personal joys, and self-care; finding equilibrium can be complex. To navigate this, I’ve learned the importance of radical self-listening, setting priorities, asserting healthy boundaries, shedding the urge to please everyone, and refining time management. This includes being discerning about the company I keep, and placing a premium on quality connections.

Some other invaluable lessons I’ve learned amidst this journey:
-Support can only be effective when individuals are receptive to it.
-I can’t be the savior of all nor is it my responsibility.
-I am not for everyone and that’s ok.
-It’s perfectly acceptable to decline a client if they don’t resonate with my values and approach.
-Love underlies every aspect of existence, even when its presence is challenging to discern sometimes.
-Maintaining good health on all levels is crucial.
-My intuition deserves my utmost trust and attention.
-Trust in both myself and the universe is paramount.
-While capable of much, I’ve come to understand that I don’t have to shoulder everything.

As I look ahead, I’m thrilled about the prospects of collaborating with both my tribe and like-minded businesses for joint events and promotions. I deeply believe in the magic of co-creation, as these partnerships empower us to blend our strengths and craft extraordinary experiences for participants on a profound level. Moreover, I’m actively working on expanding the frequency of cacao ceremonies and family constellations workshops, bringing an even greater abundance of transformative moments to my valued clients. Additionally, I just launched an engaging newsletter that will keep you fully informed about all upcoming events and offerings.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

We’ll begin with a leisurely stroll along the High Line Park, followed by a sunset walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and some quality time in Dumbo. Central Park awaits us for a charming exploration, complete with our quest to spot little animals. The awe-inspiring rose garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a must-visit, and we’ll take in the waterfront ambiance at the Hudson River Park or Brooklyn Bridge Park. The creative energy at Washington Square Park and Union Square, where artists showcase their talents, is something we’re looking forward to. And if there’s an outdoor dance or music performance, we’re all in! A tranquil river cruise on the Hudson and some relaxation at Brighton Beach are also on the agenda.

For a breathtaking view of the New York skyline, we’ve got our eyes on some favorite rooftop bars: the 230 Fifth Rooftop bar, Le Bain at The Standard High Line, and the rooftop at Whythe Hotel in Williamsburg.
Our taste buds are ready for an adventure through the diverse food scene, with culinary gems from around the world. Our top picks include:
-Izakaya MEW, where Japanese fusion awaits on 35th Street in Manhattan
-Joe’s Pizza, serves up classic New York Pizza slices on Broadway
-Miss Lilly’s, a Jamaican delight on Avenue A at 7th Street
-Smorgasburg, an outdoor food market that’s a foodie haven in Brooklyn
-Juice ‘n Beatz, a huge variety of organic juices and vegan food in Queens
-Little Cupcake Bakeshop, home to my favorite cheesecake on Prince Street

When the night falls, we’re heading to iconic spots like Smalls Jazz Club, the Blue Note Jazz Club, The Iridium, Village Vanguard, and Rockwood Music Hall for some late-night entertainment. Our dancing shoes will be put to good use with salsa nights at Gonzalez y Gonzalez on Cuban Saturdays, Taj on Cuban Sundays and Latin Mondays, and Bembe in Brooklyn.

Given my love for crystals, a visit to Jewels of Buddha in Astoria is a must. Of course, pampering ourselves is also on the agenda, with nail care at Silvia’s Nails and Spa and a fun photo shoot with Pek at Crescent Studios in Astoria. The highlight will be spending quality time with my circle for deep conversations, engaging family constellation sessions, and the enriching experience of cacao ceremonies.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

A huge shoutout to Odyssia Houstis, who is not only my soul sister, but also the Editor in Chief of Schon Switzerland Magazine (schon.ch). Her undying love and support throughout the past few years have played a crucial role in where I am with my business today. She always had faith in my work, actively promoted my offerings, and motivated me to achieve even greater heights. I am profoundly thankful for everything she has done and love her very much!

I also want to thank my soul tribe and family, whom I love immensely, for their ongoing love and support. Additionally, I am deeply grateful for the mentors and healing practitioners who have led me closer to myself, and my clients for their trust and willingness to do the work.
