Meet Sarah De Santi | World Traveller, freelance photographer, blogger and vlogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah De Santi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
In 2018 our family of 5 sold everything we owned to travel the world for 1 year. We lived a traditional life, a nice house, and good jobs. Our children went to school and in the afternoon they were busy with activities. Everything might have seemed perfect on the surface, but we felt that something was missing. We were missing time. Time to spend together. Time to grow together. My husband and I decided that it was time to get that time back! We wanted to get out of our everyday routine and show our children more of the world. It was time to teach them about different cultures, and different lifestyles. We wanted to ensure they grew up understanding the importance of respecting everyone without distinguishing between race, language, or religion. After 4 years we are still full-time traveling and our children have become global citizens. They feel comfortable in any new country they visit. For them, the most essential aspect of our travels is to connect with people, no prejudice will stop them from making that connection. They are curious, creative, flexible, and open to new experiences.
I feel like this crazy idea of setting out to see the world has been the best thing we could have done for our children and our family!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When we started our travels our main goal was to document what we did in the hope to inspire others to set out to travel and explore the world. However, in the past years, after meeting and talking to many people around the world, we have realized that there is still fear connected to travel. It can be simply the difficulty in organizing the trip as well as the deeper concern of being in a different place, out of one’s comfort zone. So we decided to keep on sharing our experience through our blog, vlog, and social media but also offer a stronger connection with our travel coaching service. There is so much to see and do, we want to make sure we can help in every possible way!
With this coaching service, we help travelers and future travelers to feel more comfortable with their decision so they can truly enjoy it a 100%.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We lived in the suburban area of Phoenix for 8 years, more specifically in Gilbert. Most of our time was spent there since our children were young at the time. However, when friends came to visit, we would take them a bit around. We are Italian so our stops would be mainly to Italian places, for example, Pizzeria Bianco in downtown Phoenix. Most of the time we would hang out in Scottsdale downtown, walk around (when it isn’t too hot) and then have lunch at Andreoli. One of our favorite and most unique places to visit was Cosanti, it is part art studio and part architectural experiment, absolutely amazing! We also like to go for a drive up to South Mountain where you have a view of the city and if you are a paraglider like my husband you can also fly off it! Close by there is Mystery Castle, built in 1930 by a father for his daughter, another great stop!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Massimiliano! This fantastic life experience would not have been possible without him, we are a great team and we can achieve anything we dream of together
