We had the good fortune of connecting with George HOWARD and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi George, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Do what I love to do

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I was most proud of having to overcome obstacles and challenges that I had not experienced before. I owe a lot to my different mentors that have guided me in the right direction of what it takes to create your own voice in the world and the positive things that can come out of an honest effort and persistence. I was awarded some accolades to which I was humbled and honored but deep down in my soul, I felt that there were others that might have even been more deserving than myself, so I started the Tucson Musicians Museum which celebrates, perpetuates, and preserves our local music heritage, and showcases our older accomplished musicians which in turn are mentors for our community youth music outreach program where we groom young musicians to understand the direction and decisions in music which is best for them through as many cultures of music Tucson Musicians Museum has to offer. We also help out underserved youth that may need assistance in instruction or an instrument. I want to be able to let it be known that our duty as professional musicians is to pass on the privilege and enlightenment that music has to offer, from tales of adventure to instruction and understanding how important it is to give back. I was fortunate to have played with Icons like John Lee Hooker, Bo Diddly, Willie Nelson, Albert Collins, The Temptations, and many other musicians who have helped me the beauty of giving back and the enjoyment of music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For someone who does not know much about the Southwest our local activities are varied, for me I would differently take them to the Tucson Musicians Museum so they would be enlightened about our musical culture. For information about Tucson animal life, I would take them to the Desert Museum where they can experience everything from spiders to mountain lions and the geographical layout of the land, Mexican food is the best, and visit one of many entertainment-based hang outs downtown. Depending on what they enjoy there are plenty of outdoor activities such as golf, mountain biking, hiking, golf, and shopping.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to say my mother who encouraged me to work hard and pursue anything that I loved to do.
