Meet Sharon Forbis | Small Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharon Forbis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I watched as my husband had taken a love of his baja bug and turned it into a business. After building my VW Bus, Lala, I saw an opportunity to take something I’m passionate about and share it with others. I received a lot of positive feedback from our community and realized that there was a huge interest in using vintage vehicles for photo shoots and events. That’s how Events With Lala started!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Events With Lala adds a unique element to events of all types, whether they’re professional or personal. With our team, you get personalized attention to detail that will showcase the style you are creating for your guests or team. We are very proud to offer an old fashioned, yet carefree vibe with our classic VW Bus. The exterior is old school with flare, but the interior is completely custom, providing an overall experience that is fun, romantic, classic, or whatever vision you wish to fulfill. We offer styling, grand entrances and/or exits, special lighting, and fun team members to make sure your guests enjoy themselves and make lasting memories at your event.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Lake Havasu City, Arizona, we would visit the London Bridge and surrounding shops and restaurants. It’s always a must to hit happy hour at Barley Brothers and grab lunch at Burgers Under the Bridge. You can’t miss out on the lake of course! Being on the lake for sunrise is breathtaking. Follow that with a long cruise to Topock and have a bite to eat and drinks, then make your way back to the channel and watch the sunset. Shopping and dining on McCulloch Blvd. is also great. Have brunch at Red Onion, then stroll along and don’t miss the antique shops. College Street Brewing, Mudshark, and Hangar 24 are all great spots for more dining and beer options. Take a side by side into the desert and check out The Desert Bar for live music and beautiful views. Stroll through Rotary Community Park. And always check the local events in the area. There’s never a shortage!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Tom Forbis, BajasNW.
