We had the good fortune of connecting with Shauntreis Sproles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shauntreis, how do you define success?

Hi! I define success as being a culmination of completing a series of tasks, day to day, and ultimately spread over a lifetime.

I view success as being an ongoing drive to achieve. Each day you are trying to be better than your former self, and are being accountable to the responsibilities around you.

Success can also be not giving up, maintaining hope, and having a willingness to learn and grow.

It’s asking what can I do in this moment for myself and others and how will what I am doing right now affect those around me?

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I’m a photographer whose work is authentic.

I design with quality and beauty in mind and my end goal is about connecting us and sharing a message.
Each one of us, and the world around us, are unique and I want to highlight that!

To do this I tend to work in natural light and implement editing that is not heavily overdone. I want to focus on connecting
with your truest self, while representing you in the best light!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a photographer I have actually explored many areas in the East and West Valley and throughout Arizona.

My goal for a friend or guest would be comfort so I would ask what kind of trip they are looking for: whether it be sightseeing/entertainment and sports, hiking/outdoor adventures, viewing history/art/museums, dining out, learning the area, etc, and go from there.

Being well versed in different geographical areas, coming from a business background and knowing how to network and be resourceful, I have found lots of little hidden jewels throughout the area, so it would be easy for me to create an itinerary.

No matter what points of interests are selected, I know it will be a blast as I will have moments of fun and luxury relaxation mixed in!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

When I think about my success and mentorship, a phrase from the movie “Akeelah and the Bee” comes to mind when she realized that she had “50,000 coaches.”

This part of the movie stayed with me because whether or not we have a group of peers supporting us or not, we can rejoice in knowing that along the way, the people that we come in contact with are our mentors.

It may be brief encounters of both good and bad experiences as other people’s lives ebb and flow into and out of ours, but each time we are left with new information. How we react to this information will either strengthen us or weaken us.

So my shout out is going to my 50,000 coaches, which I know I was provided by grace; but before I give the 50,000 shout outs, my utmost shout out goes to Jesus, my Lord and Savior for the countless lessons and blessings I have been provided.

To the 50,000-

Thank you to every one of my coaches, from spiritual leadership, to academia, to family, to friends near and far, to the store clerks, and the doctors, and the list goes on. Every encounter has gained me new experiences as I shape my journey through life and each one of my encounters matter to me.
