We had the good fortune of connecting with Shay Sandifer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shay, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
When I was 10 months old my parents and I spent 30 days on a train traveling from Guatemala to the United States to pursue the American Dream. And pursue it I did, becoming a serial entrepreneur, master hair stylist, health and beauty expert and mother of two amazing children.

Unfortunately the majority of hair repair products on the market are full of chemicals and/ or diluted with water further adding to the toxic damage to our hair, So I created an extraordinary all natural hair repair line starting The Summit hair repair mask. This Summit has changed the game and crushed the damage cycle!

My mission is to revolutionize a male dominated hair care product industry with my all natural, proven effective hair care line created for women by a woman.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been a master stylist for 16 years and counting, Elevation Beauty Salon has been my ultimate goal in business to build a safe space full of light and love where my guests have an amazing experience from the moment they walk in, I have built incredible professional relationships with my clients and I love meeting new people, while I practice my art with their hair!

It has not been smooth sailing from moving from salon to salon through the years under terrible management to starting a salon suite business with a very unprofessional, toxic business partner. I’ve had my fair share of hard lessons learned! But through it all I’ve been true to myself and my ultimate goal if building and amazing business where I can share my passion and provide healthy beautiful hair services and products .

My mission is to revolutionize a male dominated hair care product industry with my all natural, proven effective hair care line created for women by a woman. And that’s what I want the world to know

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Fist of all, we are going to stay at the sanctuary resort and enjoy the amazing spa and eat at elements and lay out by the pool and take in the amazing views! Hiking camelback mountain is an MUST! Then we will need to have dinner at LGO in Arcadia (my all time favorite place) I served there through beauty school 😉 Then a day trip to Sedona is a must, hike to oak creek and up to devil’s bridge and then enjoy a treat at the rocky rd ice cream company. Then off to Munda Park for a relaxing day and night in the pines and dinner at Agee’s bbq is definitely recommended. Back down to my mountain San tan regional park where we can hike, mountain bike and do all the things a little outdoor therapy is so good for the soul!! And finish off the week at my all time favorite restaurant in queen creek the Old Ellsworth brewing company their nachos are a must paired with any of their amazing beers on tap ❤️

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I’d like to recognize my Jesus; without my relationship with Christ I am nothing! And secondly, my amazing husband who has been my greatest support and cheerleader for the last 16 years and our amazing boys- you motivate me more than you know you’re both my reason! In my career I’ve had many mentors and leaders and to all of you, thank you for being so generous with your knowledge and for always inspiring me to be the best hairstylist I can be! Arizona I love you and your beautiful mountains they are my true inspiration and guide
