Hi Shyera, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind me starting a business, I needed more for myself and my future family. I wanted to leave a Legacy behind me. Honestly what push me to focus on myself and business was my old employer I used to work for. I love what I did however I wasn’t in a healthy work environment. That lead me to depression, anxiety, and stress! You might be wounding what I did. I was a Caregiver before a business woman. I cared for the elderly with Dementia & Alzheimer’s. I absolutely loved what I did, however I wasn’t getting treated with respect for all the hard work that I had to put into the job. I treated the residents like they wore my family. But it hurt my heart how others were treating them and didn’t take the job seriously. With a leap of faith and god I quit the job. I couldn’t continue to work for a company that didn’t care for their employees nor residents. I told myself just give it to god and let it go, because I know he has something greater for me. Nevertheless I thought long about what I want to build. At first I said I want to start a bouquet, than I really thought about it, that wasn’t my calling cause I once’s tired that before. Next I thought, I love makeup, anything that shines and sparkle has my name on it. Why not create a cosmetics brand! To help other Express their creativity, and beauty. I spent mouths of planing, research and testing my products out on myself before I decide to release my products out to the world! Next I had to come up with a name that would carry on, a lot of people doesn’t know my Middle name is Diamond only family and close friends. I named the business after me DiamondLustGliitters I thought it was unique I wanted my brand to be. different than other’s.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I customize and cosmetic Glitter. That you can wear on your hair, skin and nails. Every glitter is customized and mixed to their own colors. I mix all the glitter to give it’s self a different twist. I really enjoy creating and mixing colors to be unique. I also offer Pigments, shimmer and lashes. I have two options of lashes 100% mink and vegan free lashes as well. I like to give my customers a choice and option. I’m excited for next year we’re god takes me and the business, I’m offering birthday party’s, bridal showers, and 101 makeup counseling for beginner. I’m also will be traveling around to different states for pop up shops and events so my business can be known worldwide!
I have overcome many challenges throughout business, you have many highs and low moments. But I don’t let it stop me to continue pushing towards my dreams. My brand is made for everyone their is no limits to your beauty nor gender. I am here to make you feel confident and unstoppable when you walk into the room. Their is no such thing as to much glitter

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One thing about me I love food! I love to try out different restaurants or bars. I would take my friends to Scottsdale. First stop will be snooze, if you like brunch they have amazing breakfast and Mamosa‘s. From there to keep the party going I like to go the lounge great music and a good vibe. I really enjoy Phoenix especially Roosevelt that whole strip you will find arts and cultural events there along with locally owned restaurants, galleries, boutiques, cafes, murals, and pop-up parks. One of my favorite monthly event is First Friday. That is held once’s a month. Arizona it’s self is amazing state that is mostly sunshine all through out the year!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This year hasn’t been the easiest, though out the process of my business I lost two very important people in my life. My grandmother & Auntie/ godmother two women that I truly admired. That always we’re there for me, showed me so much support and love. I thank my family for all the support my mother has been a big help and cousins through out this business. Back in August I had to get surgery, the doctor’s found a large cyst near my spleen that causes me to be really sick. They also found a tumor on my tail of my pancreas. I had to go through surgery soon as possible before the cyst irruption in my body. My life suddenly stop before my eyes. How can this be, laying in that hospital bed getting poked everyday feeling alone because the hospital didn’t let overnight visitors due to Covid-19 really did suck. Through the process of me healing I had to learn to walk again. My father was by my side for my first couple steps. From then I knew then I couldn’t give up. It might take me some time to get back on my feet. Nevertheless I will not stop what god gave me the vision to do. I love to coach, inspired, motivate and help others out. I feel like that’s my calling and I will not stop doing that. Giving back to the community and inspiring the youth has always been one of my passion. Especially the youth, talk to them, show them how to manage their money, run a business, dream a dream because it’s all possible you just have to put your mind and heart into what you love and you will secede. I live by the sky has no limit! There are no limits and that anything is possible, you can achieve anything if you really want it.
