We had the good fortune of connecting with Sid Madrid and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sid, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I believe the balance oscillates for sure. In the early stages of my career, I felt a burning need to stay in a hyper-focused mindset, which I discovered over time was not even close to sustainable. With age and experience, I learned how to achieve a near-complete work-life balance. It’s not always perfect, but it improves over time. Things like rest, mental health, and longevity are huge factors. Ultimately, burning out goes against the creative flow.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m involved in a bit of everything. The focus shifts, but I mainly pursue music, writing as an author, and more recently, delving into acting. The creative arts have always captivated me. I’m brimming with creativity and driven to challenge the boundaries of understanding and aesthetics. I believe it’s my unique mosaic of life experiences that truly distinguishes me. It’s a blend of personal journey and enigmatic persona, embracing both tranquility and chaos. Ultimately, as an artist, my role is to serve as a conduit for expression, connecting with something much greater than myself. I want the world to understand that my brand is, in fact, a spiritual fingerprint, a mirror of my very soul.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout-out to my bro James Jewkes, also known as Jimmy Penguins. He’s a producer across multiple mediums, an artist, and a madman. It’s important for me to acknowledge his innate ability to connect a vast diaspora of artists, as well as revive and recharge artists who are on the upswing or in the motions of making a comeback.
