We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacie Seidl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The initial thought process behind starting my own business was as a side hustle. I worked for over a decade in corporate environments and the main thing it taught me was that the typical 9-5 arrangement was not for me. I had a vision for the kind of life I wanted to live and it didn’t include working for someone else. I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but many of the early years were filled with trial and error trying to figure out how to be successful.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart from others is my honesty. Through poetry I have shared some of the darkest emotions that humans can feel. My work touches on topics of mental health, healing from trauma and the long road to self love. The thing that I’m most proud of is the many readers who have written to me and told me how seen they feel when they read my work, how it helped them to release heavy feelings of guilt and shame that they were sure nobody else could understand.
The way I was able to get to where I am today professionally was by not giving up and being willing to start over. There have been times when I was sure of the direction I wanted to take my business only to get to a point where something wasn’t quite right after spending time, money and energy that I can never get back. It has not been easy. I’ve shed many tears of frustration and screamed into the oblivion more than once (more than 100 times!). I give myself the grace to change my mind and remind myself that nothing is a failure, just another path leading to my purpose. This mindset has helped me not to take redirections in a negative way.
What I want the world to know about my brand is that it is centered in self love and healing. It is my mission to create content and merchandise that is uplifting and encouraging. In a world that is full of chaos, I am creating safe spaces where writing prompts, meditation and breath work are used to ground and create balance. Loving yourself more is the beginning of all meaningful change.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout is dedicated to all the people in my life who have supported me along my healing journey and uplifted me while I searched for my purpose
