We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Lockett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Without taking a risk you will not elevate. I was taught to go more of a conventional route in choosing my career path. I went with something that I valued and that was becoming an influencer and the risk payed off. I also gained a new found passion I never knew existed inside of me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I knew I had a gift for ownership lol. When I made the decision to leave college I went into a mild depression, I felt like everything I worked for was for nothing. I knew that could not be my story. I started with something I loved which was hair extensions. I trained myself in the art of weaves and wigs and started taking clients. I then started working with local celebrities in Chicago. After I build up my clientele I then got into content creating and working with brands and as of last year got the chance to walk in LA Fashion Week. I will want anyone to walk away from hearing my story and feel that you can be whatever you set your mind to. The sky is literally the limit.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am all about a great vibe! We will have to start with brunch at Salt and toast to our accomplishments ! After filling up on food I love to relax at the Hyatt Resort and Spa in Scottsdale or a Hike at Fossil Springs Falls, and end the night with dinner at Toga

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out my supporters. The people who motivate me on a daily basis to keep striving for my goals. With their daily motivation and encouraging words I continue to want to make them proud.
