We had the good fortune of connecting with Taide Pineda and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taide, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I enjoy taking risks because I believe that avoiding them often leads to stagnation and prevents personal growth. In my opinion, taking risks is valuable — regardless of whether things go as planned, there’s always something to learn from the process.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a bilingual musician, singer, songwriter, and recording artist fluent in English and Spanish, and I perform in both languages. To date, I’ve written and recorded over 50 original songs, many of which have been featured in movies, video games, radio, and live television. I’ve also had the opportunity to share the stage with major artists such as Sublime with Rome, Rebelution, The Wailers, Shaggy, Steel Pulse, Afroman, the Ying Yang Twins, Wiz Khalifa, Stone Temple Pilots, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and many others.

Being a full-time musician—especially an independent one—requires more than just musical talent. It demands versatility and strong business skills. Beyond creating music, I’ve learned to handle marketing, sales, management, and self-promotion to present myself as a professional in the industry.

No, it wasn’t easy. I overcame the challenges by learning every day and never giving up because I truly believed I could do it. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that consistency and self-belief can turn any obstacle into progress. I want the world to know that you can achieve anything you set your mind to — if you truly love it and work hard for it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I enjoy Luckys indoor outdoor in Phoenix. I also love Lucille’s BBQ in Tempe.
