We had the good fortune of connecting with Talita Guerrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Talita, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is maintaining my integrity and mission, when we started Right Key Mortgage we realized most lenders and brokers treated clients very much like a number, we wanted to change that in the industry and provide our clients with the support they really needed. Our slogan became “We’re the company that cares” and we truly do care about our customers and the process, our whole company culture is based off of that and our staff is very much like family. We grew roughly 288% for the first few years we were in the business, at times it was challenging making the right decisions financially for our future but with always having our mission in mind we were able to power through the challenges and we created this awesome company we are today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The thing I am most proud of is the fact that I changed the whole course of my family’s legacy, being an immigrant and single mom I feel that I was able to overcome a lot of challenges to break the chain and provide my kids with a completely different experience of what financial freedom and authenticity looks like. To get here was not easy lots of sacrifices in fact I was up at 3:30am today to get my day started so there is still a lot of sacrifices to maintain what I built but I love every minute of it. I love helping others specially in minority communities to achieve the type of success I have achieved through real estate. I have learned many lessons but one that always stick to me is to be humble and not forget where I come from, I have a responsibility to give back to the community and I try to make small impacts daily. My story is simply here to encourage others to follow their dreams despite their current circumstances, anything is possible with focus, hard work and dedication.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tough one, I have a huge love for travel and have a travel blog called Dope Life Adventure. There is just too many places I have been that I love so much but today if I had to escape to a place I have already been to with a friend it would be Utila, Honduras. I love this tiny island, it is quaint and it feels like time has stopped here and the rest of the world has moved way too fast. There is a sense of peace and serenity with this place. Definitely go diving while you are there, along with a ferry ride to Roatan which is a more populated island but still quaint and beautiful.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that played a huge part in my success, my kids are definitely one. I was a mother at 16, my son almost died as a baby. I had a huge why to fulfill so all the motivation to keep pushing goes to both of them. Chris my partner and Diego our manager have dedicated their entire lives to making Right Key what it is today and Joe and Andy my kids dads. We are the best modern family and their support throughout the years have been incredible and it has allowed me to focus on my career.
