Meet Mo Diallo | Owner of Moka Design+, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mo Diallo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mo, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I would say finding the right talent and partners to work with was challenging in the beginning for me.

What should our readers know about your business?
Moka Design+, LLC is a design & build construction company. Our mission is to make our customer’s renovation dreams a reality through thoughtfully crafted workmanship and timeless design. We are a high-quality modern builder and design company with high-performing employees.

The beginning days were hard as any new entrepreneur; my toughest challenge was finding the right team. Many people in my industry would relate to this because finding a reliable, extraordinary, loyal, and fantastic crew is not easy. The key to overcoming was trying many crews and selecting the right partners to work with. We have a great team environment that would not have been possible without persistence and belief in my goal to achieve and build something sustainable for my family and community.

Along the way, I have learned your partners are your lifeline in our business. Treat people with respect, do not cheat your team or clients, stand up for your crew and support your clients.

My wife and I built this company from scratch. We had a vision and goal to build a sustainable company that would support our family in years to come and build a legacy for our family while supporting our community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to my favorite Italian restaurant in the valley – Cibo near downtown Phoenix. then head out for some drinks at Highball.

the next day, we would drive to Grand Canyon hike and sight seeing then drive down toward the valley by doing few stops in Flagstaff and Sedona. finally the day before they leave, we would brunch at Merci Cafe and enjoy the best croissant in the valley and some lamb burgers. Finally we would spend the rest of the afternoon in the pool.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I believe my wife, Kailey deserves the utmost shoutout. I started this company for her, so she followed her passion for design while I do mine helping and transforming people’s homes and businesses. I would also like to shout out to my team both in Phoenix and Chicago; the company would not be where it is today without their loyalty and dedication to treating every project like it’s their own home.

Our customers have been a cornerstone of our success, and we are grateful for every business we received; their continued support is what makes Moka Design+, LLC a successful company.
