We had the good fortune of connecting with Taran Emmert and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taran, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My business has drastically evolved over time based on my own growth as a person and my desire to help people. I have dedicated most of my life and my current business to helping people find healing through wellness practices, expression and creativity, with an emphasis on sound healing and music.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Coming from such a large background with so many career pursuits and experiences, it took me a while to figure out what direction I wanted to take. For a long time I felt like a failure because I could never decide on a single path and I had so many interests I was pursuing. I realize no that it was all those things that made my offerings unique. I also found a way to bring all my hobbies and passions together into a single brand that supports wellness and creativity. I offer one on one Sound healing sessions, Group Sound meditations, Host open mics, and teach a group and individual coaching programs that encourage people to use their voice and express themselves. I also run a blog and Instagram page that shares all things healing arts and fine arts. I have learned so much about the healing power of sound and music and absolutely love encouraging people to utilize these tools in their lives for healing and expression.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love live music, art, and food. I might take them to the desert botanical gardens or the Japanese friendship gardens to get a taste of nature, and then follow up with some art experiences like Wonder spaces, the Musical Instrument Museum, or the Heard Museum. Of course yummy food would be involved (Too many good restaurants to pick just one!) and probably some live music at Valley Bar or The VanBuren.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Big Shoutout to the Phoenix Archipelago community. Through this space and community I have been inspired in so many ways. They have given me so many opportunities as a facilitator and community member. So much Growth and opportunity has come from this space.
