We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffanie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
If I’m being honest, being a business owner was never on my goal list in life. But isn’t that usually how life works? In 2022 I was working a full time corporate job in banking operations & never saw myself leaving that world. During that time, I took a class to learn how to braid as it had always been an interest of mine but not something I had ever learned. I ended up working part time for a company & when I unexpectedly lost my job, I dove into braider life while I searched for a new job. It was supposed to be temporary. A few months later, what I came to realize was I loved the work & the concept but was limited by the company I was working for-so I decided to take a leap & create my own brand, taking it a step further to expand services. Somewhere along the line, I went from job hunting full time in the banking world I grew up in, to realizing that was not what I was meant to do. I developed a love & appreciation for the grind of getting to be my own boss. Now I am building & growing a company I am proud of, offering a one of a kind experience with a variety of services to choose from.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I offer a one of a kind, concierge experience. & it’s a completely customizable experience- from braids & hair tinsel, heat tools to boho styles, festival/rave braids & face/body glitter, gems & tattoos– everything is completely customized to you, your needs & your budget. Whether it’s a bachelorette or a kids’ birthday party (or even just for a single appointment) – if there’s a theme- let me know & I’ll have charms & accessories to match & really elevate the final look & experience. I love that braids & tinsel or styling is universal. A guest at a wedding, your high school reunion, a braid or glitter bar for a grand opening, or a holiday party, there’s something for everyone. Because who doesn’t love a little pampering & not having to worry about styling their hair? No two parties are alike because no two groups are the same- I love the variety & fun something as simple as this service can bring to the table.
There have definitely been challenges. The biggest one I face is a budget for marketing to a specific audience. I personally love the bachelorette space in Scottsdale, but it can be tricky to get your business out there when most of them are coming from out of town or state – they’re not local. So, it’s beneficial to spend money to for marketing & partnerships. However, when you’re still very small & a new business tryin to grow – it’s difficult to go that route. That’s where other small business partnerships who operate in a similar orbit but vary from my business are crucial. Everyone wins
What makes my services so unique is offering affordable pricing with the luxury of coming straight to you. What I have found is you can get similar services for a higher cost, or you can save money, but you don’t get to do it from your home. I offer both. I didn’t grow up with access to services like I offer & I want people to know that it is accessible & I will always do my best to be as inclusive as I can be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many things to check while visiting! My person favorites to recommend are Canyon Lake, Tortilla Flat, & Goldmine Ghost Town. Additionally, I would suggest Papago park, the Phoenix Zoo & Botanical Gardens. For nightlife, food, or entertainment I send people to Tempe Marketplace – I’m a regular at Thirsty Lion so it’s a personal favorite of mine. Additionally, depending on the vibe you’re looking for- I send them in the direction of Old Town for a combination of food, shopping & entertainment.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The list of people who have supported me thus far is a never-ending list, but I will try. Firstly, my family – the true hype squad in my life. Not one time did they ever doubt my ability, in fact, they saw the possibilities long before I ever considered starting my own business. My friends – for constantly being a sounding board, moral support & in person support & my real-life mannequins. There have been countless pleas for head/hair models for practice & photos & someone always showed up- you know who you are & I am forever thankful to you. There are several businesses in which I’ve created partnerships & friendships with that I am incredibly grateful to for taking me under their wings, making introductions, bringing me in on projects & so much more. The wisdom & encouragement they have bestowed upon me, can truly never be repaid.
