Meet Tk Art: Graphic artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tk Art and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tk, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Always working. To be an entrepreneur you have to be willing to work and work hard in order to get to where you want to be.. Especially at the beginning stages when just getting your feet wet into whatever industry you decided to be in. Have to be willing and love to work. Early mornings and late nights is one habit I have that helped me come as far as I have. 

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My style of art is digital or graphic art. Being a digital artist is a little tough because you get a lot of scrutiny for not being considered “a real artist”. It’s definitely not a traditional style and is sometimes very misunderstood. So my artistic style alone has been a challenge. Also, I didn’t start out as an artist. I started out doing clothing. I ran my own clothing like for a few years before I went full time as an artist. The clothing line ended up being a failure but I learned a lot about business and entrepreneurship that helped me transition into building as a visual artist. So even though my first business failed it helped me create a foundation to continue a long another path towards the same goal. So, no matter what I’m going to continue to push forward. I may not have the followers that most have, or have huge amount of likes and shares on social media. And I know I’m not that well known of an artist yet. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop pushing to my end goal. I will keep on going and striving to what I want to become. The failures will come and the rejection will continue. But, that won’t sway or deter me from fighting through the storms so I can continue to walk towards the light.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Az has a lot to offer, there are a lot of good places to eat, places to see and events to go too that are a lot of fun (pre-pandemic of course). So a few places to eat that are good. 1st would be hash kitchen, this spot has good food, good drinks, and a good vibe. Lolo’s chicken and waffles is another good spot to eat at. If you are feeling more Mexican style food, unos is a good place. And then I would definitely suggest trying Monroe’s hot chicken. All these food places are good in its own right and definitely places to eat at if visiting. If visiting especially at the beginning of the month some places that are a must go to for me are poetic soul, cobra arcade, and first Friday. But, like I said these are just the tip of the iceberg. Az has a lot to offer and what I just listed are just a couple of things to do

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
For me it’s not just one person who has helped me along my journey. I have been blessed to have a lot of people in my life who have helped me along the way. From my parents, to my brother, my girlfriend, and even other artist and entrepreneurs around me. Each and everyone of them have helped me along the path. So for me to shoutout just one person wouldn’t be enough. But I will shout out a few people as a big thank you for the push and who have helped me quite a bit along the way. So thank you to both my parents, my brother tyson, my girl Chyrelle, Fahad Ahmed, George bell, Antoinette Cauley, bass customs, YB, art vandal, Luisa Leon, teezy McFly, life the artist, and kissed by kish.
