We had the good fortune of connecting with Tollisha Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets The Official Glue apart from other businesses in the networking field is how we approach networking as a foundational business principle and not as an activity. Most of our competitors classify networking as a social activity, and we’ve taken networking to a new level by teaching our clients how to use networking as leverage to grow, scale, and optimize the potential of their businesses. As the founder and CEO, I must say my proudest moment is hearing my past clients’ success stories. Their success is truly my success, and there isn’t a better feeling of accomplishment than knowing that you’ve helped someone else accomplish their dream.

I can’t say the journey has been easy. It definitely came with a ton of sacrifices. But I knew developing The Official Glue was my divine purpose, and I had to Stick with it. Having my husband’s and my children’s support allowed me to focus on the business and getting it to where it is today. The two most important lessons I’ve learned are that we can’t do business alone. No matter how hard we try, we need to ask for help. Secondly, the longer we wait to get the help we need, the longer it will take us to achieve our desired success.

I want to share my passion for professional networking with the world. I understand the effects of ineffective networking and how it can destroy the spirit of individuals trying to get to their next opportunity. Taking time to develop an effective networking strategy can create professional leverage and become the foundation for increased resources, career advancement opportunities, and brand exposure. The Official Glue was designed to empower individuals with the knowledge they need to become their own publicists and unlock the power of their YES. The brand is heavily inspired by the nostalgic quality of Elmer’s Glue. When I was a kid, I loved how Glue could repair broken things, give a glossy shine to once-dull things, and, when dried, be easily removed from select surfaces. School Glue was readily available for us to explore the possibilities, and with proper instruction, it acts as a binding between what is and what’s possible. As a brand, The Official Glue strives to provide our clients with the most reliable resources and effective customer service while formulating strategies that stick.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If you are visiting Sunny, South Florida, a few spots are a must. We would start our adventure with a perfect treat from Jeremiah’s Italian Ice. This is one of my favorite Italian Ice spots in Coral Springs, Fl. They serve the perfect combination of Italian Ice and rich, creamy soft-serve ice cream. The next stop is Extreme Action Park for a bit of child-like fun. Although I’m not big on arcades, I love to roller skate, and they offer an adult night with premium drinks and delicious bar snacks. You cant come to Florida and not spend a day at the beach. So we would head down to Deerfield Beach for a day full of fun in the sun. But before we get the sand between our toes, we must stop at Sylvain’s Cafe for an authentic homemade breakfast with all the fixings. The quiche is a must-have menu item. There are a few great places to eat, drink and relax on the beach and one of my all-time favorites is OCEANS 234. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but I will have the crab cakes. Since we are in the area, we can stop at Nordstrom Rack for a well-deserved shopping trip and grab a few brand names items at a reasonable price. We will definitely want to hit the town in style when we go to Las Olas Blvd and explore the downtown nightlife. This is another area that has so many options for good music, fabulous dining, and a bit more shopping opportunities. One of my favorite places to visit is YOLO. This restaurant offers a great atmosphere with live music, lite bites, and a premium drink selection.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
So many people have supported The Official Glue during this journey in business, and I would like to shoutout my Husband, Darrell Joseph. He has been with me during the ups, downs, ins, and outs. This dream wouldn’t be a reality without his love and unconditional support. I would also love to shoutout my boys, Jai’kob and Jordan. They inspire me to work hard and continue to chase my dreams. Early in my journey, I was mentored by Teana McDonald. She helped give my business a fighting chance by providing me with the tools to set a solid foundation for my business. A big shoutout goes to Tameshia Weaver for being my first yes when I pivoted my business from face-to-face to virtual with the launch of my then live-stream series “SmallTALK” during covid. Alicia Boateng is a huge supporter of The Official Glue and has been an excellent collaborative partner throughout the years.

My favorite organizations are BossBabes of South Florida and Girlfessionals INC. Both of these organizations are women focused and offer a supportive community to their members,
