We had the good fortune of connecting with Tori Levitt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tori, what is the most important factor behind your success?
While many factors apply, the single most important is our pet nannies who represent our company mission to provide loving and pampered pet care with intimacy. My pet nannies are the backbone of Doolittle’s Doghouse and make me proud every day!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m proud to have nurtured a unique, boutique company from scratch, with fierce determination to be the best in the pet-care service industry. With no capital funding or office staff, we continue to serve our clients (pet owners) and our guests (their pets) with unbridled enthusiasm and love for all things furry.

I have carefully chosen each pet nanny to represent Doolittle’s Doghouse. Our heart beats for every dog (and cat) in our care with extreme focus on their individual needs. We are not a “one size fits all” service. We provide unparalleled guest experiences with focus on their needs not ours. We are more than hobbyist pet sitters. We are nannies to the furry children in the family and employ top-notch standards for loving devotion that never quits.

Our client software helps us manage all details necessary to ensure the safety, health and happiness of our furry guests. It covers intrinsic details that other pet sitters or resorts may not think to ask about. Every client is asked to register an account and complete a profile, with user-friendly ease and accessed via our website.

Because we get up-close and personal, we have established long-lasting relationships and client loyalty that has sustained us for 12+ years in the valley.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
While the hot summer months require hibernation, our fall/winter/spring weather demand a visit to the Phoenix Zoo, Desert Botanical Garden and Old Town Scottsdale (art galleries and eateries). When in Old Town, for either an arts festival, lawn concert, tour of the art galleries, restaurants and fun shops, a stop at the Sugar Bowl is a must.

Iconic restaurants that are a must-visit include El Chorro (love their cinnamon buns!), Lons at Hermosa Inn, Los Olivos and of course, Tee Pee Mexican Food (family run since 1958). Local hiking trails are always on the tourist agenda, along with supreme golf courses and public tennis and pickleball courts.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m grateful for every client who places their trust in us to care for their beloved pets. One in particular has been an exceptional mentor who gave me the encouragement to expand beyond my own backyard: John Leonesio of The Leonesio Group. John is not only a brilliant business man, but also deeply devoted to his family (including 2 of our regular guests, miniature Huskies “Kiki” and “Kali”). In addition to John’s advice and support, I thank God for His daily presence and guidance in my life.
