We had the good fortune of connecting with $Tragedy$ and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi $Tragedy$, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I just feel like humans are not robots all simply designed to go to school, graduate, and find a conventional job. I tried hard and even excelled in a traditional role in society as far careers go but I was never truly happy. I don’t have anything against traditional jobs I am just happier doing my own thing.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a rapper/singer songwriter. I write music for myself and other artists. I think what sets me apart from other artists is I listen to and love a lot of stuff outside my genre from stuff like Rebelution all the way to Dance Gavin Dance or some old Circa Survive so I feel like I have a unique perspective on melody. I’m most proud of finally having the courage to do this full time every new level and challenge puts you closer to something bigger than yourself. I got to where I am by taking risks and embracing that it’s okay if fail 1000 times because in reality all you have to do is succeed once. It’s never easy there would be times I’ve had to borrow money and eat ramen but every time I got close to rock bottom something broke my way and was a sign to keep going. The situations and challenges have taught me one thing you can’t win the game if you don’t play. And I want people to know and understand ordinary people can do extra ordinary things.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would probably start off at Hash Kitchen bomb food and music. I’m more of a homebody if there’s no sporting events (Suns or Cardinals). I do like hiking north mountain so we’d do that. Arrowhead mall is cool it’s not under construction or going out of business. Oh and the outlets gotta go get fresh premium outlets in chandler. Jupiter rings and wings and Phoenix is awesome as well. Cobra arcade is also lit
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
