We had the good fortune of connecting with Wendy Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Wendy, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
All the different energies that take part on the process of bringing a plate of food to the table. From the prep cook, dishwasher, manager, chef, customers, looking for the best local ingredients, etc, Everything takes part as a team at the end.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
All the people the people that works at Tumerico are a very important part of the success, I see all Tumerico employees and customers as a whole, as a family, They all put their energies on making things happen in the back of the kitchen and in the front of the restaurant, We make fresh food with the only intention that whoever eats it, feels good and nourish, after all this is what We do, We all have Our part on anything that We do in life, Cooking as everything else requieres an infinite amount of passion.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We will Go for coffee and Chai First thing early morning at La Chaiteria over the West Side. Then for a walk at Tumamoc.
After that Mission Gardens, then Lunch at Tumerico.
Later in the evening,
Yoga oasis for some distress.
early dinner at Noodleholics.
Perhaps to the movies at the loft cinema,
Browsing at bookmans.
hiking at gate pass.
Sonoita for those wine lovers.
Tacos at Tumerico on 4th avenue.
little walk over barrio viejo and down town
Maybe a cooking class from la chaiteria (mole making)
mt. lemon
bike ride.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
