We had the good fortune of connecting with Xplicit Life and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Xplicit, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose to pursue a career as a creative because I’ve always been innovative and imaginative. I’m naturally drawn to art of all sorts. I fell in love with music early on in life and it’s been a part of me since I could remember. As an artist, I’ve embraced being different. It’s what highlights my authenticity and originality. It’s allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and explore new things. Music is my creative expression. It’s my way of communicating and connecting with the world. Making music is what I’ve always been the most passionate about.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My originality, authenticity and versatility are what sets me apart from other artists. I’m constantly perfecting my craft and experimenting with my artistry. I’ve created some of my best work just trying something new while I was recording in the studio. Working with experienced producers is key as they can also provide valuable input and even challenge the artist to step out of their comfort zone. It’s a high level experience when you vibe with a talented producer and create good music! Being I’m so versatile, I can’t be boxed in to one flow or style. I have an original sound and I love that no other artist sounds like me.
I want the world to know that it’s always been bigger than music to me. The world needs more art, love, positivity and peace. Those are the things I’m going to continue to push out there. I want to remind others to keep believing in themselves and their dreams. With focus, hard work, determination and dedication anything is possible!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’ve never visited Phoenix, AZ you have got to come check it out! From the beautiful desert scenery to entertainment and delicious eats, there’s so much to see and do in the city and surrounding areas. I’d recommend coming to visit during the spring time between March and May when the weather averages between the high 70’s and 80’s. This is personally my favorite time of year. The landscape is like a desert oasis with cacti and palm trees. There are mountains almost everywhere in the distance with beautiful hiking trails. In downtown Phoenix there’s a mix of historic and modern architectural styles. There are shops, restaurants and entertainment venues throughout the area. You have to check out the Roosevelt Row Arts District. It a creative space that is art focused for artists, entrepreneurs and residents. While we’re downtown, I’d take you to see the Desert Botanical Garden and the Phoenix Art Museum. There’s plenty to do for night life entertainment. We could slide over to Westgate in the Glendale Sports and Entertainment District. We can check out the shops, go grab sushi and sake from Kabuki and play some games at Dave & Busters. We could even stop through to see if we can get lucky at Desert Diamond Casino located near by. On another night we can go out to Scottsdale, AZ and I can show you some of the clubs and bars that are popping in the area. The greater Phoenix area offers a variety of food selections, so it really just depends on what you’re in the mood for. This works perfect for me because I love to eat and I’m always down to try new food spots! While you’re here we’d definitely take a easy hike up South Mountain for a cool view of the city while we smoke a blunt of the finest herb. If you smoke that is lol. For lunch we’d head to get some of the best southern fried food at Southern Fried. Then we could go have some fun at Main event. We could bowl, have a few drinks and hit the arcade so I can beat you in everything we play lol! For dinner I’d take you to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen because I gotta get my seafood fix. Don’t worry, they have a variety of options incase you don’t eat seafood. The next day we can hit my home gym early then afterwards grab some brunch at The Vig. Braised beef hash for me. After that, we’ll head to Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall to do some shopping. If you’re anything like me you gotta stay fresh! While we’re there we can sit down for some lunch at the Yard House. That night we can head to Ziggy’s Pizza, which is actually a secret entrance to Stardust Pinbar. This spot has a cool vibe, nice drinks and a great pinball selection. It’ll be a good time. If I like you enough haha, I’ll even take you by my parent’s house for my mom’s cooking which is no lie the best filipino I’ve ever had. I’m not just saying that because it’s my mama lol. Love you mom! If you’re down for road trips, there’s a few day trip destinations we could ride out to. First we’d head to Sedona. There’s scenic red rocks, shops, hiking, art galleries and fine dining. We can also check out the Montezuma Castle National Monument and then go chill out by Beaver Creek. If you feel like venturing even further out we could check out Grand Canyon National Park for breathtaking sights. I’m definitely hitting the studio while you’re here and I’m taking you with me. I can show you my process of creating and we can vibe out to my latest singles! If you’re brave enough you can even hop on the mic and lay down some bars. You’re guaranteed to have a great time while you’re here, especially kicking it with Xplicit!
