We had the good fortune of connecting with Aimee Moehring and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aimee, what do you attribute your success to?
Authenticity. What you see and hear from me is really me. I try to be transparent, and fair, and generous when I can. I do that because I genuinely believe what goes around comes around. I like to approach people with kindness first, uphold good customer service, and always say “thank you” for their business or time.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My style is most defined as eclectic. I will never consider myself an “artist”. But I will express my personality by being artistic and creative. My maternal grandparents both could draw and one could paint. Their daughter, my mother, has a wonderful eye for decorating. So I guess it is in the genes to enjoy creating items and also making living spaces that are pleasing to the eye! I always joke about how I would rather dress in rags to be able to buy cute toss pillows. So it is up to your reader to decide if that is truly art and design talent, or just an addiction! HAHA!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love to hear about cool places and neat hang outs, but I am actually a loud introvert. Not a huge fan of crowds but a big fan of quiet, open spaces, and especially fond of outdoors in nature! I would almost always pick quiet out of the way places, or places in nature to show a friend. If a friend was visiting our state for the first time I would take her out to Lake Pleasant and we would rent kayaks and sightsee around the lake. After I would take her to the Dillions restaurant at the Marina to enjoy lunch on the dock near the lake. If I were in better shape, I would also take her to Thunderbird Mountain for a hike! My favorite sport right now is pickleball so I would love to play-or introduce her to pickleball. If we had time to leave the local area, I would take my friend to Prescott and go thrifting and have a good meal on Whiskey Row. And if we ventured further away from the Phoenix area I would take her to Horseshoe Bend, or on a wine tasting tour in Cottonwood. Our state has so many quaint and cool things to see, we are very lucky!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shoutout to my loyal customers- as well as my social media followers! The community we have built together over Facebook and Instagram (and also in person at our biannual shopping markets) is so fulfilling! And an added bonus is that my customers and followers also come together a couple times a year to make a difference in our community! Recently they helped raise money for a church youth group trip! And over the past eleven years they have made contributions to whatever organization we choose to help during out at Holiday time through our Spirit of Giving Campaign! We have helped Title One Schools, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Foodbanks, Retirement Homes, Animal Shelters, Grief Communities, and more! The people on board with me through REECreations Home Decor deserve the Shoutout!
